"Beauty is in the materials, craftmanship and sound"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I bought a beginner's Yamaha thirty years ago. This guitar is all the six string acoustic I will ever need.
Sound
The sound is very bright with warm mid tones and good bass. I was looking hard at mahogany Martins, but this Taylor had better range and more sustain. It's great for strumming, but it sounds great for picking and melody. What is nice is how it responds to varied sound levels. It loves to whisper, but it excels when you play it hard.
Features
This is Taylor's entry level premium guitar, so don't expect any bells and whistles. Inlay is at the minimum, but evrything that is there is top quality and perfect. The ebony neck is what wouldn't let me put this thing down, and it stays in tune forever.
Quality
This guitar is like a piece of Stickley furniture. There is little ornamentation, but the quality of the materials and the constuction gives it a beauty no low resolution screen image can capture. Everyone who has seen it is surpised at just how beautiful it is in person.
Value
One can get a Takamine with a cutaway and built-in pickup for less, but it doesn't sound the same, and it won't be a classic thirty years from now.
Manufacturer Support
None needed so far.
The Wow Factor
When in a quiet showroom to sit and play this guitar in comparison to others, its hard to choose another.

This Taylor 310 Acoustic is awesome! It doesn't have all the bells and whistles...who needs all that. (Maybe next time) This Taylor sounds beautiful, I play acoustic and with out a small mike set up I came up with. I am first and foremost a bass player. I tried the 110 series but I soooo prefer and can hear the solid wood body tone. This guitar is basic, no frills. but it sounds great and Im very happy with it. Excellent playability

"The Taylor 310... a superb guitar!"

Just received my Taylor 310 this morning and I am extremely pleased with it! The only thing is that the factory set action is way too high for my taste, but a professional setup will cure that with no difficulty. This is an instrument of the highest quality and extraordinary workmanship... you won't be sorry! And... it's made in America, not in some distant land where workmanship is always questionable! This model is hard to find... get yours while you can! For the price, you can't beat this dreadnaught!
