Taylor 254ce Grand Auditorium Rosewood Acoustic-Electric Guitar, 12-String (with Gig Bag)
Take that 12-string chime on the road with the workhorse 254ce. A solid Sitka spruce top projects clearly, and the ES-2 electronics sound great anywhere.

I just received the Taylor 254ce guitar that I purchased right here on the zZounds website. The reason that I titled this review as "best $150 guitar you can get" is because it feels, plays, sounds like a $150 guitar. Obviously it doesn't sell for that anywhere, at $1099 it lacks fit and finish like they ran out of sandpaper and thought just send it out. The tuning machines are just very basic, generic, whatever Chinese factory gave them the best deal. I bought this from zZounds because I paid like 30% less than the regular price, as it was marked scratch and dent. There are no "scratch and or dents" on this guitar (I've purchased dozens of items from zZounds marked blemished or scratch and dent, insanely good deals couldn't find anything wrong with any of them, except one) There are two major blemishes on the front of this guitar that were not man made, but appear to be natural. Most musical instrument makers would have not used wood that had such defects, Ibanez, Breedlove, Alvarez etc. wouldn't let it out of the factory. Speaking of factories, Martin used to make the best acoustic guitars ever, but at some point they decided to start using man made materials like plastic and vinyl in Martin guitars and have them made in Mexico. Taylor built the 254ce in Mexico and it's only a matter of time before they start using plastic necks and other synthetic materials. It's an ok guitar and I'll keep it, but not going to buy anymore Taylors.
