I just got my Taylor 14ce Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar yesterday, and I’m blown away. First of all, the guitar looks absolutely beautiful — classic Taylor design and finish. It’s probably the most affordable Taylor on the market, but it feels and sounds like a high-end instrument. The weight is perfect, the top wood looks and feels premium, and the neck has that solid, slightly heavy feel that makes it so easy and comfortable to play. The sound is loud and full, and the intonation was spot-on right out of the box.The D’Addario strings that came with it are a perfect match — smooth and low tension, making it a joy to play. When I plugged it into my Fender amp, the sound was crystal clear and powerful. Truly amazing projection and tone, both unplugged and amplified.Overall, this guitar feels great in every way. For the price, it’s an incredible deal — Taylor quality, beautiful looks, and amazing sound. I love it! THANKS zZOUNDS!!!

I purchased this primarily as a backup guitar. I lead worship for my church and was in the market for a backup guitar that I would be comfortable taking all over the place. Fit and finish out of the box this thing is extremely high quality. Despite having a bolt on neck the 14ce is extremely tuning stable. The tuners are great, I don’t have any issue with them. The guitar looks stunning, and sounds beautiful. I’ve owned a few Taylor’s in the past and had the same problem with each, a high frequency harmonic from the bridge when playing plugged in. I notched that out but it always frustrated me. That not the case with this guitar. It plays better than any entry level Martin, and has replaced my Fender Acoustasonic as my main instrument. This really surprised me. 499 for a Taylor?! With a gig bag?! And electronics?! Unbelievable value. Now it does not have the same electronics as other Taylor’s, but if you are using a good preamp or pedal that doesn’t matter. This feels better to play than my 110 Dreadnought, doesn’t have the harmonic issues my 214DLX had, and was less than a quarter of the price! Definitely check this out.
Sound
It has that Taylor sparkle for sure on the high end, but a good mid punch as well. Plugged in it absolutely sings. Now this is just a piezo, no body sensor so it’s the normal piezo sound, but that lends itself well to a band mix and if you use any preamps or pedals you can clean that up easily.
Features
The torrified spruce top gives a surprisingly warm tone, and the neck is thin, but easy to play. The ebony fretboard and bridge is a surprising touch, especially at this price point.
Ease of Use
This sounds fantastic. I get better tone from this than my Acoustasonic, and given its solid construction, I’m not afraid to take it outside or worry that the neck is gonna be all over the place due to temp/weather changes.
Quality
Crazy well made. I can’t get over how beautiful and high end this feels, especially given the price.
Value
This is worth more, easily. For the price I’m amazed at what you get.
Manufacturer Support
I’ve worked with Taylor in the past. Fantastic customer support.
The Wow Factor
This is a great beginner instrument or backup guitar that can quickly become your main instrument. I own other high end guitars and find myself playing this more and more.

I finally got mine in yesterday and my Martin DX1E does not compare to new Taylor. This has a side spruce top and shapeless sides and back which gives me a nice brifgt tone. Plus the neck is thinner and the body is a cutaway which I love. This stays in tune very well once you scratch the strings. The action is very comfortable and it just sounds amazing. I am very happy with this one.
