Taylor 114ce Grand Auditorium Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar (with Gig Bag)

The Taylor 114ce is a good introduction to Taylor's high-quality acoustics. With a solid Sitka Spruce top and an ES-T pickup, the Taylor 114ce sounds great.

"MAN THIS IS AMAZING!!!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
my first acoustic electric i was in the market for. I knew i couldnt spend to much without having to sleep on the couch so i shopped and shopped once i played this one i found myself always coming back to it at every shop i went to. So after about 2 months of shopping i just said screw it and havent looked back since. Its a great guitar acoustic as well as plugged in. I play mostly Folk/rock stuff.
Sound
Great Sounds unplugged as well as plugged in.
Features
no tuner but the sounds is amazing!!!
Ease of Use
The neck is smooth and the perfect size. Very comfortable.
Quality
Obviously at this price it cant all be great woods, so the only reason i mark it down here is cause of the laminate sides and back.
Value
you cant beat this deal for the sound you will get. Trust me i played everything in this price range. Nothing came close
Manufacturer Support
Excellent customer service. I actually bought mine from a taylor Rep who came to a local shop.
The Wow Factor
Just look at the thing and tell me its not one of the best looking acoustic electrics youve seen.

So picked this model up from zZounds after being on a deep Iron and Wine dive. Sam Beam has been using various Taylor guitars for years now, and honestly he has one of the greatest acoustic sounds today both live and recorded. The Taylor 114ce Satin Sunburst does not disappoint! Beautifully crafted, flawless, and effortless playability right out of the box. The satin finish is so nice, and likely contributes a lot towards the guitar being SO resonant. Contrary to the listing (and thankfully so), the guitar that came is the updated model with laminate walnut back and sides. It also has the ES-2 pickup system instead of the ES-T system, which is a HUGE upgrade. So not only does this guitar sound fantastic acoustically, it has Taylor's premium pickup system and sounds great amplified. It came with a semi-hard gig bag which is perfect for most light traveling. Taylor has really hit it out of the park with this model, and they've gained a loyal fan out of me.

Sound
The sound is pretty good to really good but it does have some fret buzz. I was told that it needed to be "set up." I just don't believe that a brand new guitar should need this at extra expense. Maybe I am naive but I find it absurd. $800 on a guitar and then it immediately needs work?
Features
The pick up sound is good but no tuner and no guides to tell you what is what. It is only three knobs but a small little instruction sheet would have been nice. I do like the way the pick up and knobs are integrated so that they are almost unnoticeable.
Value
I have no real idea on this. I think you are paying for the name. I think, at this price, it should have tuner.
Manufacturer Support
this needs a not applicable option since I have not dealt with them, how can I rate them????
The Wow Factor
It did get positive comments the last time I played it live.
