i bought this as a backup to my computer recording systems. im a home retired musician that was having some hard drive skips/glitches in my systems. this little recorder does what i need it to do when my computers decide to take a day off. yes the computers have large monitors and vu meters to see, but this recorder is very clean and easy to get up and running once you understand tascam procedures . also should i want to downsize to 1 keyboard that doesnt have audio recording , this makes and easy add on at a reasonable price. i did a test recording , mastered it, saved it and transfered it to my windows 10 and linux computers with no problems under 15 mins. once you get the hang of it ,its pretty seamless. my computers are easier but like i said this is a great backup. the only con is that the screen is not back lit and pretty small to see, but this ol mans eyes can handle it. as usual zZounds customer service, fast shipping is outstanding. they played a major part in building my little keyboard rig/and studio. thanks!

This multitrack 6track pocketstudio is a great learning experience for the students in my music studio! My students are now learning the basic art and science of multitrack recording as an added part to their music lesson! It’s all been said but I’ll add a bit. This is a great little machine. My first Tascam was a 788 and I swore I’d never buy Tascam again due to the complexities of the unit. This 006 was a gift and I’m proud to have it.
