"Good Features, Good Price"

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This product will be a part of my project studio for a LONG time (partially because I'll need that long to figure everything out). The price was right on the model I bought, especially for everything you get. If stolen, I'd replace it, no doubt.
Sound
The sound is pretty good, but for some warmth in vocals and such, I have to use an outboard pre.
Features
There's so much in this board that I haven't even found yet, and I've used a LOT of the features.
Quality
It's pretty heavy and nothing seems flimsy or easily breakable, but I still wouldn't take it on the road. Sitting on a desk is the best place for it. I back up all settings via MIDI just in case of a problem.
Value
Lots of features crammed into a 2'x2' board. Automation makes it worth it.
The Wow Factor
Lots of buttons, knobs, lights, and an LCD screen -- a tweakers dream.

"Broken Ass Value, and a 20 mile long learning cure."

Over all, don't buy unless you want to become a pro engineer, and plan to spend all your time on the mixer rather than the music.
Sound
It has a very good sound for the sound, but I got a Mackie 32x8 that beats the tail of the DM24.
Features
My god, it has a hole set of 20 space (signal proc..) rack setup inside. Very hard learning cure if you are moving up from simpler anolog bords, all the knobs are just about replaced with buttons and knobs. IF you are not ready to learn you could learn to hate this mixer. I like big anolog borads better, but I do love the mix recal feature.
Quality
Mine never worked when I bought it, the software had lots of problems, and the thing was not that well built. I would not buy any more. Cross your fingers that it work without a prob. if you buy one.
Value
If you get it to work, them you must figure out how to use it, then, you will get to the value of the mixer. It does have Value, but beware of Bugs in the unit. They may kill you in the end.
Manufacturer Support
Support could not get the mixer to work, cause the dam thing was not ever going to work right. However, they did what they could over the phone. You can't polise a turd, as they say.
The Wow Factor
I don't want that thing. Give me D8B any day, or even most anolog 32x8's would do. At least they work!!!!!!!!!!!

"Good product. Nightmare support/service. BEWARE!!!"

The product is a good one. I just cannot get over my personal experiences with TEAC. Shame on them. I will never buy another product from Tascam ever again.
Sound
Sounds great but see below.
Features
Great features but see below.
Quality
I bought this refurbished but it was like-new. It's pretty much built like a tank.
Value
Good value. I got mine refurbished. But Tascam/TEAC messed it up real good.
Manufacturer Support
Beware. I sent mine in because it had a busted TDIF port. They deny it, but I know it's busted. It gets worse. So I sent it in and got it back. Scratches on the side and top of the board. Screws were broken that holds the armrest. I sent it back in. They fixed the armrest but didn't bother with the scratches. The icing on the cake is there are a missing rubber feet when I got it back the second time! They are a bunch of idiots down there at TEAC California. I would recommend this product but make sure you don't send it in to TEAC. Have a local guy do any repairs. TEAC will mess up your DM-24. They reluctantly are ordering a replacement cover for the board. It's going to take 6 to 8 weeks. Add that to the 3 weeks they already wasted to scuff up my board. Stay away from this board. STAY AWAY! Go with Yamaha!!!

"Great bang for the buck all in all"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Hopefully this will last me a couple/few years, at least until the higher sampling rates are a must (which may be never to be honest for home studios).
Sound
It's great, very versatile patching, the add on cards are a breeze to install... one gripe, the slope on teh input gain is a little crazy at the very high end (got from +12 -> +60 in less than 1/4") but I can live with it as there is also a digital trim function which I can bump up my level inputs with as needed to keep them out of this very sensitive range.
Features
does mostly everything I need. Navigation is great, would love an external monitor, but you can't ask for everything for the price :)
Quality
I did have a couple of small issues with my console initially. It shipped with mismatched software versions for components and was crashing a lot. Got help from tech support, I re-seated the EPROM chip in it (which can come loose in shipping .. beware of this and just seat it when you get it right off and save the trouble) and also udating to the latest firmware available. Updating was very straightforward (albeit a bit slow, but such is the nature of MIDI) and worked without issues. The board has been 100% solid since then.
Value
great bang for the buck, hard to beat and I did a _lot_ of research before purchasing.
Manufacturer Support
They were very good on the one issue I took up with them (see above). They were however non-response to my requests for information on the upcoming release (8 months since announcement and still waiting ... and still not shipped) for the firewire interface for the desk.
The Wow Factor
have seen sexier setups, but it is very practical.
