I've waited approximately a month or so to write my review. I absolutely LOVE this kit... 100%!I play a lot of smaller clubs as well as bigger venues, so I thought I would give this set a try...The footprint is tiny, but the sound isn't... I replaced the stock heads with classic Weather King Remo Ambassadors and left the stock resonant heads on the bottoms... The toms sound amazing... I get a wonderful punchy sound out of the 8" tom and the 10" floor tom --- I use the 10" peanut snare as an accent snare and/or third tom w/ the throw off... I use an old Pearl President for my snare [I play country/blues/ Americana/ and rock-a-billy and do a lot of brush work, so I needed a 14" snare]. My cymbals are Avedis - 16" crash off the kick mount where the 8" tom is situated... and off the the L-rod mount off the kick ,I use an˜18" crash ride. I have 1948 13" Avedis hi-hats that are paired with an old Ludwig hi-hat stand...The only drum that gave me some trouble is the 14" kick... I replaced the resonant head with a clear Aquarian and loosened the keys as soft as I could and now have a pretty decent kick... [it's a work in progress]. I bought an Iron Cobra 200 and that works great with this kick...Bags came with this set and they are very well made. I did purchase the matching hardware bag that goes with this set and it carries all my hardware including two snare stands, L-rod, tom mount, and floor tom legs.I get the usual giggles and rolling eyes when I show up with this kit... That changes as soon as I start playing... Folks are amazed at the sound I'm getting from this tiny giant. My band hosts a monthly blues jam and I've had nothing but outstanding reviews from the drummers that sit in and play it!In bigger venues I do mic the kick...Everything is first class with this kit... the finish, the hardware, the sound-If you want to downsize, I highly recommend this kit for a gigging drummer.

I purchased this kit as a warehouse resealed box. It arrived in great condition with only slight wear on heads, which I would change immediately anyway. The kit is tiny. It will be easy to travel with. The sound is amazing!! Even the tiny bass drum has a surprising amount of punch!! This makes me 3 Tama sets that I currently own. You can’t go wrong with Tama or zZounds!
