This is one of the warmest sounding mics I have ever had the pleadure to use. My primary use is for strings. Has the warmth of a ribbon and the detail of a condenser. Very versitile!

Comparing to other brands i own like AKG, M-Audio, Behringer and Samson, this studio B3 rocks out in sound clarity and warmth. No compliants..though its China Made.

Sound
Excellent as Side mike for mid-side stereo recording. For Mid Side, matched mikes are not necessary: I even use it with SM57 as the Mid mike, e.g., recording acoustic guitar. SP B1 or C1 would be an even better companion.
Sounds great through SP VTB-1 preamp.
