First and foremost, zZounds is a great organization and I have no issue with them. I purchased the Strandberg Boden Prog 7 in the twilight purple a little over 4 months ago.The first week that I had it, I was using it at a gig and the bridge popped out while on stage. It turns out that the bridge pin that the knife edge of the tremolo rests under had a crack in it and it broke free. I contacted the customer service agent at zZounds and they immediately gave me an RA number to return the instrument. However, they had no more in stock and I would have to wait for 5 weeks before I received a replacement. That said, I called Strandberg customer service and they sent me a set of new bridge pins and the issue was solved, except for the chip in the top caused by the bridge popping out under tension. But hey, I thought no big deal, it adds character, and being a working musician gigging regularly, it was going to get a ding sooner rather than later. Now, here we are in the fall and the weather is changing. Well, so much for the reinforced neck claim, it has now shifted and even tightening the truss rod all of the way, there is still far too much relief in the neck and the instrument is absolutely unplayable! The strings are siting 3.75 mm above the fretboard, and if I lower the action at the bridge, the strings fret out above the 15th fret. I paid $2500.00 for this instrument and still paying on it. I am now past the 45 day return period and I am stuck. If you are contemplating buying a Strandberg, don’t! If you want a headless, buy Ibanez or a Keizel. Again this review has no bearing on zZounds, it’s a great organization with great and helpful people.

The fretwork is horrendous. Like 5 frets are too high, and one of them is popping out. There is also glue on my fretboard from when they installed the frets in the factory. The volume pot does not work at all. I opted not to send this back, and just have it fixed since this can all be fixed by a skilled luthier. This will be the last Strandberg I ever purchase. I decided to have a Kiesel made. Nothing bad to say about zZounds, they are awesome.
Sound
The sound is okay. Those fishman pickups are decent, however fret buzz is terrible.
