The classic vibe Jazzmaster and Jaguar are to heavy, between 9 and 10 pounds, i sent them back, This mustang is around 7 ibs, also there is a lot more tension across the bridge because of the trem design. This is a much better trem than what is used on the Jaguar. What a great vibrola it is so light and stays in tune, the pickups are new alnico design that sound very good with moderate output. My action is very low with no buzz, i did tweak the neck and adjust the bridge. Fit and finish is top notch. Tuners work well. Just a nice feeling neck. I like the new tall skinny frets, you get better intonation.

Just to add to my review, the bridge pickup is wound to 6.3 k, neck 6.1, a little hotter than normal for these pickups. There is a nice wiring mod from premier guitars on the mustang.

I want to, add to my review When i took the pickup cover off i noticed that the pickups have a layer of copper foil around the pickup coil and it has a ground wire from the copper to ground, this makes it very quiet, hats off to squier for doing this, you won.t see this on guitars that are 3 times the price. Fender should advertise this shielding.

"my second mustang"

I received this guitar last week and it was not playable, the neck had a huge bow in it, the nun was never cut, and very sharp frets ends, i contacted zZounds and they did nothing for me, i spent 2 hours on this to get it to play, i am a retired Fender tech from Nashville, and Fender should be ashamed to ship a guitar in this condition, the average person would have shipped it back, after 2.5 hours i now have a guitar that plays the way it should. $419 it should be playable.
