The finish is perfect. The double bound body looks awesome. Neck finish has the cool vintage look you would expect from the era. Sounded great plugged into my little practice amp I leave in the living room. Nice twang on the clean and the overdrive was crunchy. Will sound even better with the full set up. Action is nice and plays great. Honestly got this for looks as much as anything, but it may become the main player. Everything was nice about this guitar. I know Squier is the “cheap Fender” but there was nothing cheap about this. It is a custom shop guitar at a very affordable price. Add all of that to the awesome Telecaster look with the sunburst and double bound body and it is just flat awesome.

"Plays great but heavy."

First, I love this guitar. It plays and sounds great, the fit and finish was superb out of the box. I would actually say it's a small step above a MIM. However, it's HEAVY. I don't know how much the weight varies from guitar to guitar but the one I got weighs 10.2 lbs! Now, for me, it's not that big a deal because I'm just a home player and I'm always sitting down when playing, but, I could see it being an issue for someone that gigs so I thought it was important to note.I want to make sure I'm clear, the guitar is AMAZING, especially at this price point. I love mine and play it almost everyday (it shares time with my Strat).

I recently purchased this particular Indonesian-made guitar after having previously had the Chinese-made model. Foolishly I sold that one. I bought this one hoping it would be of similar quality. IT IS.There are some changes to the specs. The biggest change is the body; was alder while the new model is nato.My experience with Squier is that the Chinese made axes have a more consistent level of quality but this particular specimen is really impressive. But it is considerably heavier. (I believe USS Constellation had two of these hanging from her bow.)Tone wise the pickups in this model are really, really good. I had planned to install some aftermarket Fender pickups but I'm holding off for now.The bridge pickup in particular is really responsive and bright. I actually prefer the pickups in this Squier to than the Vintage Noiseless pickups that came in my Fender Nashville; a guitar that costs twice as much. (Those pups got yanked and replaced with the superlative Yosemite Tele set, btw.)The neck is delightfully slender and VERY well dressed. No sharp edges or fret sprout. The nut seems to be properly cut and slotted. The tinted maple neck is a nice cosmetic touch. The finish is immaculate and the binding flawless. This guitar is really quite pretty. For a sub $500 guitar, you'd be hard pressed to find a better value. The only criticism I can levy is the set-up. The action was sky high and there was zero tension on the truss rod. All new import model guitars require some tweaking, some more than others, but this aspect seemed to have been rushed. Oh well, no biggie. I had it fit for full duty in a manner of minutes.I plan to replace the wiring harness and three way switch but I do that on all of my Squiers.I would definitely recommend this guitar unless you have gargantuan hands and a weak back. (Not to belabor the point but this thing is as heavy as my '76 Tele.)Note: My five star rating is based on comparisons to other guitars in this price range.

"Classic Telecaster looks and sound."

I’m a Telecaster fan and this is my 7th Telecaster. It is a great looking guitar and was perfect out of the box. Biggest things I notice straight away, is it is my lightest Tele and perhaps the thinnest neck compared to my others. So, you may like that or dislike it. However, I feel it is fun to play, comfortable, great sound looks much more expensive than it is. I give it 5 stars!

This guitar is every bit as good as my MIM tele. However....The difference was this one did need adjustment out of the box. My MIM Tele came out ready to play. On the CV, I had to adjust the neck and lower the action quite a bit. Also, the frets needed a polish. But, with those two adjustments and some new strings, it plays like a dream! I was especially pleased with the fret ends. I fully expected that I'd have to do at least some work on the fret ends and the fret board to get a good comfortable roll on them but they were perfect out of the box, not a single bad fret.Overall, I'm really pleased and have been enjoying this guitar a lot!
