It showed up fully playable, I just lowered the action slightly to suit my preference and it was good to go.Compared to my Ray34 (which costs quite a bit more), this sounds a bit closer to an authentic American StingRay. It also has a couple of extra features like a string-through body option and a passive mode. The neck is more comfortable. The upper fret access is slightly better, while not a huge deal on a bass, still worth noting. The B string is punchy and clear, better than any StingRay style basses I've played in the budget to midrange price range. The preamp offers a ton of tonal range. It’s a little touchy at first, but that sensitivity makes it very flexible. The black sparkle looks incredible. My only minor complaint is the battery compartment is picky on batteries due to it's design, needung longer ones like the Panasonic alkaline or energizer and lower horn/body contour can slip a bit when sitting, but that’s relatively small considering the price point. This bass punches well above its weight class.
Sound
Very good stingray style sound. Great for metal and funk, with the preamp dialing back the treble and mids works for reggae and ska. In passive it sounds great for emo and pop punk too.
Features
All the features are great, just wish it had a passive tone control.
Ease of Use
Sounds fantastic. Works well with my current equipment, especially with my Darkglass pedal.
Quality
Made very well. Only part I'll likely replace is the tuners which is pretty typical for an instrument at this price point. Battery compartment is a little annoying but I can live with it.
Value
Punches way above it's weight class.

Just received this bass and played my first gig with it. The sound was amazing. The clarity and punch through my Hartke TX600 were better than anything I have played before. Definitely recommend. zZounds delivery and payment plans are the best.
