I've owned this microphone for a little over a year now. I've previously owned the Shure SM7B, but never had enough headroom for the microphone to shine to its full potential with the interface I was recording through. This micrphone changes all that completely. I am recording through a Scarlett 2i2 interface and I couldn't be happier with the results. My vocals range from everything from RnB to pop, metal with false chord screams, hip hop, and so on, and this microphone shines in quality with all of those genres. I use it as a daily voice comms microphone for both work and when gaming while in Discord. The great thing about the Shure SM7dB is it removes the need for the Cloud Lifter. Sure, you might save a few bucks buying the SM7B and the Cloud Lifter, but this is one less thing you have to worry about in the chain.
