I have been using a mid level Sennheiser and Shure PG58. I went to this, and WOW! The sound and power is awesome. The clarity is tremendous. I love the fact that that all of the controls are on the front of the mic, and it calculates the battery life, as you go. Of course, how can you go wrong with Shure???

Band mate bought the BLX series. They are fine, but this unit kicks their fanny. Deep, rich, and full right out of the box!

"Fantastic Wireless System"

Have been working with this system for a day. I play alone (digital piano + vocals) and setup is quick and easy. The receiver is small enough to fit right on the piano, right in my viewing parameter. This makes it easy to monitor sound levels, although once you set it up (gain) there is basically nothing to worry about. The Lithium Ion battery at full charge shows 17+ hours, and it charges quickly. Even though the power is off to the receiver, as long as it is plugged in, the battery will charge. The off/on switch on the mic takes a bit of effort to engage- a good thing as you will not be shutting the mic off by accident. It seems the "presence" effect on the mic is somewhat less than on my wired SM-58Beta, but that is not a big deal. If you can sing (not scream) you will love the clarity and crispness of the mic. All vocal nuances you are capable of eliciting will come thru on this system. For the money, this is quite some system!
Sound
With the exception of slightly less "presence" effect, the sound is identical to the wired Beta58. Highs are very crisp, mid-range is excellent!
Features
Te gain controls give you an additional level to fine tune the sound. Since my mixer has gain as well, I can add here and detract there to really fine tune the sensitivity of the mic.
Ease of Use
Setup is easy- NO learning curve.
Quality
Okay this is a plastic mic body and receiver. But since I take care of my equipment, I am not concerned. If you want to spend hundreds more for metal you have that choice. Plastic does result is a very light mic, so if your using a boom, it will have no problem is keeping the mic at the proper aspect. All that being said this is well constructed and has a quality feel and appearance.
Value
Tremendous value
Manufacturer Support
Shure has always been responsive to inquiries. I have dwelt with Shure products since the 1970's.
The Wow Factor
Wireless mic's have many advantages in supper club environments. Someone is having an Anniversary, or Birthday, just pull the mic and "go talk"! And of course one less cord to trip over etc.
