I purchased this because we have a music ministry that needed a more personal touch so when we decided to buy a wireless handheld microphone it was going to be the SM58. I have been a musician and singer for over 50 years and have never been satisfied with anything but the Shure SM57 or 58. This unit is no disappointment to me at all. It's my old standby without the cord. If you like using the SM58's by all means buy this one. It's solid just like big brother.

Country 45+ years, Gospel 50+ years, Pop & Classical as well over a 55 year period.

"Good mic minor gripes"

mic is very simple to set up, very easy to use. foam case is nice touch. My only gripe is it feels cheap and plasticy. Wish it had more heft to it. Feels very fragile, like it might break if dropped. Also where it threads at the seam if you tighten just right the seam is completely flush but its not tight enough (snug) one little more gentle twist to tighten and the seam bulges and you can feel the unevenness.
