Easy to get a good sound with this amp. That is the bottom line. I've owned many bass amps through the years of all price levels (most of the older GK, many Markbass, Fender, SVT's, Orange AD200 and their other amps, Aguilar, Epifani, Darkglass, etc.) I was actually considering another more expensive amp but after reading reviews realized it had more baked in tube sound. I love that sound alone, but in a busy live mix I prefer a tighter, sometimes grindy sound (think GK 700RB). So I decided to look elsewhere. Why did I consider a Seymour Duncan? Well, all of their gear I've used or plugged into seemed perfect for my bass(the only exception being QP pickups). Nothing flashy or extravagant, but made the sounds I wanted. This amp really follows through on that. Plenty of power, all the important features, solid build and professional looking. Plus the reasonably priced carrying case is one of the best I've owned. Set flat this sounds great (2X12 Deltalite cab, no tweeter). Adjusting the knobs gets you what you expect, bottom end is tight and clean (I don't feel I have to use a HPF anymore). Took me some experimentation to get the drive to where I like it. It really gives a lot more than just drive. I'm really happy I bought his amp 2 months ago. I used it for a while before posting a review but it just works. I adjust the settings for my bass and room and don't really touch anything (except for that "band is several drinks" in volume bump). This is really the ultimate test for me.
