I have a black player II tele, also purchased from zZounds, and put this JB Jr for tele in that thing the day it arrived. I had a lil 59 in it and enjoyed it, but this jb jr changed it completely and for the better. It’s brighter sounding but not as bright as I was expecting compared to the lil 59. I think the stock 250k pot helps and I see why they recommend 250k for this specific pickup iteration. I also think it pairs well with the stock player II neck pickup as mine measured 8.7kohms, so it’s a slightly hotter neck single coil. The only thing is - my tele has a modern Tele bridge and the pickup is slightly bigger and doesn’t fit without minor modification to treble side of the casing. I took an exacto knife, shaved off the corners the slightest bit and voila…it fit. The pickup will fit in a normal vintage style bridge - no mod required.
