"One Awesome Guitar"

Ah, this guitar. A heavenly, beautifully built, great sounding instrument, right out the box. You could spend boocoos of money on a "name brand" 12 string, but you'd be paying for the sticker on the headstock. Seagull's 12 string is unsurpassed in quality, value, and most importantly, sound. I absolutely love this guitar...I own approx. 20 stringed instruments or so and this is by far my go to songwriting guitar. It sounds like a piano, with deep sonorous lows and crisp, jangly highs...with a midrange punch perfect for flatpicking. I honestly have no complaints with Seagull's 12 string except it would have been nice it would have included a case. Buy it. You won't be disappointed.

"Great 12 String!"

Ya, know, I don't know how Godin/Seagull does it! I've played and taught guitar for over 40 years and have played or owned almost every brand of 12 string I could get my hands on. I always recommend the 6 string Seagulls to my students, so I decided to give the 12 string Coastline a try, (because of the reviews and price), and I could not be happier. The sound is really, really nice and clear and deep for light gauge strings and great for flat and/or finger picking. I don't like to use finger picks and I have never been able to play a 12 without using them until now. The action is so low you actually have to adjust your style a bit to get used to it, and with just a little effort and control you can play it without finger picks and it sounds great, and it REALLY does stay in tune!!I know it's been said before in other reviews, but this instrument is worth 3 times the price and sounds and plays better than 12's costing much much more.

"Great Value"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This guitar gives you great sound for price. Nice, clean looks, but nothing fancy. If you're in to that be prepared to pay 2 or 3x the price of this honey. If played it in varied circumstances from church to coffee house to open mic and it never fails to impress both me and the audience. Tone and balance are incredible.
Sound
Excellent tone-crisp highs, full lows, just enough mids. Very lively woods. Good volume.
Features
Like the cedar top and cherry sides and back. Construction not only sounds great but stays in tune.
Quality
Fit and finish are excellent. Frets dressed very comfortably. Tuners very functional
Value
GREAT value for the money.

"Awesome Fantastical Guitar!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars

So good I bought two. This guitar is lé creme de crop. Perfect intonation, awesome sound. Big and Full and sounds like a piano from heaven. So if you want a giant sounding guitar that stays in tune, is road worthy, and overall will make you sound better, this is the one. Sure, you could get an expensive name brand 12er, but this one really is just as good.

"Best Guitar I have ever played"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
In 30+ years of playing this is the single best guitar I have ever handled. It has a beautiful, sweet yet crisp tone that does not diminish or vary all the way up the neck. It can be played softly or hard and responds well to both. It has a perfect feel and sensitive touch with absolutely no buzz or damping. Somehow it manages to keep perfectly tuned as well, which is unheard of in a 12 string. And to top it off, it looks beautiful as well.

Musical Background:

30 years experience with guitar. Also played sax, violin, piano, banjo.

Musical Style:

Started in early rock and blues. Got saved and play only for the Lord now.

"Seagull S12 Cedar Acoustic Electric"

Did my research and bought the Seagull. Perfect out of the box. You won't believe the sound you get for the money. You always worry when you buy unseen but with the return policies of major suppliers if you don't like something you are able to send it back and not even pay for shipping. I sure as hell won't be sending my S12 back. I can't put the thing down. First thing I played was opening to Mama I'm Coming Home and just had aural orgasm. Canadian made was a major plus for me as well. If you get a chance check one out you'll be amazed.

"Fly the Seagull!!!"

I recently purchased the Seagull Coastline S12 Cedar Acoustic from zZounds and I could not be more pleased with this guitar. This is my second Seagull. I bought the 6 string here previously. Both guitars have amazing tone and hold their tune very well. Either one could easily be mistaken for a Taylor or Martin with the beautiful sound and impeccable craftsmanship. Both guitars were "blemished' and marked down considerably from the normal price. But both guitars look brand new so I'm not sure what "blemished" means. Maybe these were returned from previous purchasers. I have zero complaints here people. zZounds is a top shelf outfit and I encourage anyone to do business with them. Rock on!!

"Love this 12 string guitar!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I don't know if this guitar is still available but if it's not then it should be! I picked it up in a guitar shop 5 years ago and instantly knew I had to have it. It was easier to tune than any 12 string I'd tried in the past (tuners make it easier now). Additionally, it had a sweet sound I instantly fell in love with. Finally, it was easier to play than any 12 string I'd played in the past. Still loving this guitar today!
Sound
As I stated above I love this guitar for the stated reasons. I'm not an expert on 12 string guitars but have played quite a few. Love this as by far the best sub $1000 guitar you can buy!
Features
Sounded Great!
Ease of Use
The built in Godin electronics was a great choice for this guitar.
Quality
I've had this guitar for 15 or more years and still play it every day.
Value
This is by far the best 12 string guitar for its price range.
Manufacturer Support
I've not dealt with the company yet with this guitar.
The Wow Factor
I love the aesthetics of this guitar. It doesn't have a high gloss finish which makes it a nice feel in contrast to my Martin HD-28.

I don't write reviews but I am making this exception. This guitar is a ridiculous bargain. I bought it sight unseen and I am so happy with this guitar. The voice is so impressive and so easy on the fretting. Absolutely amazing value. Love playing this guitar and people just go crazy for the sound..I have owned so many guitars in my 67 years but this one is the best value 12 string I have ever had and I owned ricks and gibsons that were not as sweet as this baby.

"Great for the Price! "

Out of the box, the guitar sounded bland and the tuners left much to be desired when it comes to function. After I removed the original strings and put on a set of bronze 80/20 Martin strings, this thing sounded beautifu and exciting! The craftsmanship of this instrument is outstanding! I will be keeping this guitar. I will be replacing the tuners with Grover Mini-Rotomatic tuners and putting in my own custom preamp with two pickup provisions: Microphone and saddle pickup. This system will accept both the mono amp chord and also accept the regular microphone cord for church worship performance.

Playing again after nearly 20 years.
