I recently bought this guitar and, despite a few issues with how it arrived, I absolutely love it. From a build-quality standpoint, it’s nearly flawless. The action was spot-on right out of the box, the intonation was perfect, and the Floyd Rose is incredibly stable. The fretwork is immaculate—smooth fret ends, clean leveling, and perfect neck binding. The finish itself is excellent.There were some wiring issues from the factory, but they’re easily fixable and were most likely just a one-off miss. That part doesn’t change my opinion of the guitar itself.What did disappoint me was the shipping from zZounds. They packed the guitar with no internal protection at all, and when it arrived, both ends of the shipping box were wide open. The headstock was literally sticking out of the box. It had a chip in the finish on the headstock and another on the body. If zZounds allowed photo uploads in reviews, I would show exactly how it looked the moment I opened the door and picked it up.I don’t consider the cosmetic damage worth returning—I’ll put my own marks on it over time—but it’s something buyers should be aware of. Because of this experience, this will be the first and last guitar I ever have shipped from zZounds. As for the EMGs, I also own a $3000 Les Paul with the same pickup set, and these sound incredible—honestly even better in this guitar. It plays better, too. I would never discourage anyone from buying this model; just be careful about who you buy it from.
