The Schecter C-4 Custom has mean looks and great sound. With EMG active pickups and a Mahogany body, the Schecter C-4 Custom sounds great for rock.

I feel like this will be a bass that I will have forever and i will always play even after i build up a collection of basses.
Sound
The sound on this thing is amazing. The EMG's really sound great. In bridge position you can get a sound very much inbetween a jazz bass and stingray. In neck position you get a very unique tone. They sound well mixed also. The active preamp helps you tweak things to get just about anything you want. I haven't played it live yet but as long as you change your battery every 3-6 months and they're not cheapo batteries you should be ok with it not failing on you live and sounding crappy. This bass is good for those that want a tone that can get them heard in a mix
Features
It came strung with D'addario strings instead of those crappy sounding Ernie Ball's that a lot of stock basses and guitars tend to have so thats a plus however the battery in the bass was dead and needed to be replaced because right out of the box because when I plugged it in it made no sound whatsoever now it has plenty of output thanks to duracell(the stock batteries were Econpower or something like that)
Ease of Use
This is the easiest to use bass i've ever played. It has a two band eq which is simple Treble and Bass. It is very easy to get the sounds you want out of it. With a good enough ear for tone I bet you can replicate the many classic sounds of the most well known basses. The body is comfortable for sitting and standing. The neck feels amazing. I can play so fast on this thing
Quality
This is a quality instrument. The finish is good and is truly beautiful. No loose parts or cosmetic blemishes. very reliable. You can depend on it however get a spare because even the best of the best can break down and because it's active with no passive mode and you might forget to change the battery you should try investing in a spare. The bass will work good on the road is my guess. I have yet to discover its worst aspect in quality. It seems like it will last.
Value
It is worth way more than its selling price definately

I think it will last years and if I had to choose another bass, for any reason... I'd go with Schecter again.
Sound
The EMG HZ pickups are very hot. The Active 2 band eq. suits my taste well, providing a wide range of tonal control. I have tried out several other brands of bass and in this under 500.00 range, nothing came close. I play classic, metal, alternative and after playing around with it, I love it! Everyone has their own personal likes or dislikes when it comes to choosing what is right for you. It sounds great to me through an Acoustic B-200 head and an Acoustic 15" cab. Clean tone, deep, dark lows, nice mids, and highly playable along it's fast, slim neck. Schecter makes great guitars, you won't be disappointed if you need a well made bass, and are on a budget.
Features
I love the active electronics, smooth controls and good placement. It comes with XL mediums, not my personal favorite, but I will try some Chrome Flats on it since I'm not much on slapping. I wish it didn't have a plastic nut, but that is a minor setback for the price, which is amazing for what you get.
Ease of Use
Playable right out of the box with no buzzing frets and minimal tweaking of the bridge.
Quality
The finish ( I got Aged Black satin), was very clean,no scratches, even painting, ad I love the wood neck and edging around the body...hard to see in the picture, but nicely done. I will be gigging with this bass and confident I won't need a backup. It was well made (Korea) and feels very sturdy and totally road worthy.
Value
I think this "Diamond Series" C-4 is an awesome deal and blew away the competition of all the other brands I considered.
Manufacturer Support
No problems so I can't answer for support.
The Wow Factor
Let's just say I am sad when I have to put it down,I just love playing this bass. It feels great, sounds amazing, and I DO like the look of it.
