I already had high expectations of this guitar before getting it, and I’m happy to report that I was not disappointed. I did need to do a little setup for my own preferences, but the factory setup wasn’t bad. The tuners were a bit dusty, which was merely annoying, but the biggest problem I have is that 2 of the tremolo cavity plate screw holes had been stripped. Fortunately, that is a problem I have the means to solve. Sawdust and superglue, then re-drill the holes. Another problem is that mine definitely needs a compensated nut. Even after correcting the intonation to the best of my ability, the open strings still aren’t quite right. The 12dB boost works great! Gives clean tones more push without crunching, and drives distorted tones into a more saturated sound, especially at the bridge position with palm muting. Frets are perfectly level, but need a little polishing for smooth bends and vibrato. 3M flexible polishing paper is cheap, as well as masking tape. I did deepen the nut slots a little, but not everyone feels the need for action that low. Locking tuners are decent, though the grip on the locking screws is really smooth. Aside from these things, I haven’t had any complaints! Smooth tremolo, FANTASTIC feeling neck. Easy adjustments, and it included the tools for all of them in the exterior pocket of the gig bag! Nice padding, and decent quality bag. Highly recommended.
