"Samson S-com4"
This compressor is a reasonable option for smaller (low key) live applications, particularly suited to the (not too audible but fairly musical) dynamic control of things like vocals, acoustic guitar and other transient rich material. Though the S-com4 should not be relied upon to sit program material in one place without budging like an 1176 with all buttons in or a Distressor in Nuke mode, it is a reasonable compressor for small bands and/or duos who don't need to absolutely smash what they are compressing but just turn down peaks or bring up the quiet parts of a signal. The real bonus with the S-com4 is having 4 compressors (each pair stereo linkable) with threshold, ratio and output controles + 4 gates in one rack space.
I do not recommend using the S-com4 on high ratios or on bass heavy material but for transient rich "pishy" things (if you get my meaning) it's totally usable for general purpose (light) compression duty.
Though the S-com4 is not a studio quality compressor, it is not a (toy) pretend compressor either.
