"Roland SI-24 + Roland RPC-1 + Sonar 4 Producer Edition + Roland SI-24 Control Surface Plugin (free) = TERRIFIC COMBINATION!"

I think this thing is great. There is really nothing about it I don't like. My only complaint I guess is that its popularity does not seem very widespread making it much more challenging to get support for it if needed. But since it's working perfectly for me, I'm not worried about that currently.
Sound
It is perfect for my needs. Recording at 44k, 24-bit in Sonar 4 Producer Edition.
Features
I bought it as a stand-alone product because I already had a few Roland RPC-1 cards to interface it to my computer. It is an excellent combination of audio interface and control surface within Cakewalk Sonar 4 Producer Edition using the Roland SI-24 Control surface plug-in. I love it.
Quality
Seems to be built nicely. Looks great.
Value
I'm amazed at what the SI-24 + RPC-1 card can do at this price point. I simply cannot imagine it being any better for my needs.
Manufacturer Support
I love Roland, but I do tend to think sometimes their online support is a bit incomplete - especially for a product like this that isn't exactly mainstream. On the other hand, if you call them up, you can usually get a hold of someone very knowledgable and helpful for any need you might have.
The Wow Factor
Motorized faders - are you kidding me - when they work properly (like they do in my setup all the time) - that's about as sexy as it gets - at least in regards to digital music hardware and software! :)

"One box that should be in ANY priject studio !!!"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
untill 24/192 or SACD takes over I am satisfied I can safely get out of the 16bit rut if you catch my drift... I will be supplementing it with other out board digital audio cards in the near future ...
Sound
for the size of the box the preamps are one of the best I have heard...True there are better ones out there but for the price and size you aren't going to get any complaints out of me
Features
If you count software for accessories ... Logic ... one thing comes to mind ... no more PC Support ... thats ok I have moved to Sonar 4 and it just makes a mix session fly !!! Not entirely Rolands fault...
Quality
I was skeptical at first something so small is usually fragile. faders are sturdy the box feels well built ...
Value
I will be getting anotherone soon to run on my Ableton box ... Oh did I mention not only was I able to mix from its own Preamps but those from other digital audio cards as well ? ( thanks to sonar for allowing that ) and thanks to Roland for allowing the mixability !!!
Manufacturer Support
Havent had to call ... 'nuff said!
The Wow Factor
as said before I will be getting another unit ... lets see ... motorized faders, 8 pre amps 24bit 96k recording.... its like using an O2r with out the O2R price ( ok I like Yamaha products too but if your a "sturggling engineer" or "producer" you get what you can ... Im glad I got it and will be looking for another ... very very soon

"a diamond in the rough"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This unit actually "replaces" an aging 880ex that I currently own ( got tired of flying tracks a pair at a time digitally into my main computer ... I have various outboard gear that "works" well this is the only one that is as responsive as my roland 880ex if not more so...and being that it can be used as a "control surface" I am not locked in by any means to the number of tracks the manufacture allows me to use if need be another audio subsystem can be used in conjunction ( I have done this before with great results ) face it a 8 track recorder with the ability to mix 24 tracks from a desk no bigger than a notebook .... it has my vote
Sound
from what I am hearing I like it ... I will put it through the "fire" when I record the next live session at one of the clubs I work at but for my own personal tinkering I have no complaints
Features
so far everything worked right out of the box
Quality
no dings faders feel solid more firm than devices costing twice as much. ( if you dont agree then I must have one of the REAL good ones)
Value
yes
Manufacturer Support
never had to call them ... cant rate
