I have used Roland for the past ten years. They constantly upgrade and get better. I will eventually buy the set's they haven't even made yet but i can't wait!
Sound
This is the best of it's time. You are able to tune the mesh head to achieve the same tension you're personally used to on a real set. The response of the pad in incredible. You're able to adjust the sensitivity and the threshold of velocity with most of the Roland modules which i recommend doing for best results. The rim works great! You are able to adjust the volume, sensitivity, gain, threshold, and the sound being used for the rim individually for even greater possibilities.
Features
This product comes with everything it needs to function the way it is ment to. Including cables, mesh head, and it's own users manual.
Ease of Use
Plug and play! For any brand module you can use this pad. It's completely interchangeable. Granted the module may not have all the features of the roland modules but nonetheless it will perform the basic functions. It is also possible to use a trigger midi converter and run the pad directly to you computer or other midi devices for truly infinite possibilities.
Quality
You can beat as hard as you would on a real set and then some. It works extremely well and if you blow through a head you can replace them as easily as a real drum set!
Value
Of course i would love for this product to be cheaper but you pay for what you get and i don't regret spending any money on Roland.
Manufacturer Support
Yes! Not for this particular product but www.rolandus.com has a 24 hour e-mail support. They responded to me with in 24 hour every time i've used them. I ask general questions to complex situation where i have no idea what i'm dealing with. They also have a general FAQ forum and a 1-800 number. Fantastic!
The Wow Factor
These are the most attractive electric drums on the market! Don't believe me? Look around! You'll find nothing better.
