I got the product basically as a workstation. I don't do any live performing. I just create and put it out there. All I can say is "WOW".......I took no time to open the box and set it up. As a workstation, the ability to create on this is perfect for any genre. It is a vast & endless creating device. Thank you zZounds for your flexible payment options. I'm very please with my fantom 07!!!!

"Powerful keyboard"

This is a very powerful keyboard in a lightweight package. Possibly the most convenient keyboard to carry with you at every gig and rehearsal. You can carry it pinched between your thumb and forefinger. It’s that light! The sounds are amazing, and very easy to edit and customize. The thing I like the most about these boards is the way they’re structured to be “modeless”. You have a “scene” and everything you need for that performance is right there, in the scene. (Patches, layers, sequences, effects) You program a scene for a song and anything you ever need to do with that song will be right there. The pattern sequencer takes a lot of getting used to. (Especially for a guy who has done linear sequencing for 35+ years) But, I have adapted to it with some growing pains and I find using single “patterns” within a song to be useful. Still, not the most useful sequencer. I don’t recommend buying it for its sequencing capabilities.I have the 07 and, personally, I do not like the feel of the keybed at all. Feels very cheap to me. (08 might be a different story) This sort of fits in with the whole idea of a very powerful sounding synth in a cheap package. (No aftertouch)One more Con is that polyphony is a noticeable problem in most situations. You make a layer patch and you WILL run out of notes and get dropouts quickly. Using piano samples on channel 1 is an exception to this. You have all the notes you need with piano on that particular channel. For my application, I’m very happy to have this phenomenal synth that’s easy to tote around.
