I've had the Rane Seventy for over a year now and still love it! I purchased this mixer during the start of the pandemic in 2020 knowing I would have lots of downtime from gigs to learn the new features. This was just before the Pioneer DJM-S11 & S7 mixers were launched. I thought I would have buyer's remorse when I heard about the Pioneer mixers but after Rane added Serato Scratch Bank to both the 70 & 72 mixers... all was well. The Ducking Echo works almost like the Smooth Echo on the S11 so there's little to be desired between the two. The DJM-S11 has a few more features than the Rane Seventy, no doubt! However, for my personal DJ style, I have more than enough power with this mixer. The Mag4 faders are buttery smooth and have external feel adjustments. I can use this mixer with my Technics 1200s or my Rane Twelves. The sound is superb. Two thumbs up!

This mixer is amazing. I also own a DJM S11, and the way I would put it is that the Rane 70 keeps you more "honest" when digital Djing. With something like the S11 (also the 72 I'd imagine), it's really easy to "cheat" because you have the waveforms right in front of you. When you a looping/juggling, you don't have to count how many times you went around in your head and get a feel for it. The waveforms are right there so looking down at the mixer it's pretty elementary to get it right. With that said, the S11 believe it or not is probably really great for a beginner DJ who is just starting out. At least when compared to something like the Rane 70, that is a very utilitarian feeling DJ mixer. It's a dope mixer no doubt, but there's not a lot of frills and it gets right to the point! The 70 is built like a tank. It's all metal construction feels like it can take a beating when traveling on the road and back again. Even the FX paddles are metal and feel much more substantial that the ones on the S11. If you don't like heavy bulky stuff, this mixer may not be for you, and something like the S7 or S11 may better suit you. This feels like a tough DJ's mixer, and it's built to last for sure. One gripe I have is that the secondary pad modes aren't labeled underneath the buttons, as is customary of DJ mixer of this type. The Rane 72 had it, so why doesn't this one? It's not a huge deal, as the user guide tells you what they are, and it's easy to grasp it after a moment, but it would have been nice if it were there. The sound quality is top tier. I wouldn't say it's "better" than the S11, but its definitely not worse. Everything sound nice, clear, and loud coming out of the mixer. I like that you can set the mV amount for each deck on the Phono input. Pretty cool. It has some neat features you can access on that little screen, and I would suggest taking a dive into the settings to see what's there and get it dialed in to your liking.Overall I'm happy with this mixer. I think I will keep it and use it on my secondary DJ setup or swap it with the S11 from time to time. I love the mixer and it's a great buy. You get everything you need to be creative, and to rock a set, in a nice, well built, mixer. 5 stars all around!

I purchased the 70 over the s9 or s7 due to prior dealings with Rane. The faders are smooth like butter. The features are great. I love the duck echo. The construction of the Rane is mostly what sold me. I prefer metal over plastic. I've had it two years now and do not see changing.
