Superior product. The build of it, is made with high quality craftsmanship. Not heavy, but it has a nice "weight to ratio" to it. As far as sound, it is clean and transparent (Flat frequency response). An audio engineer's best friend. The no noise/jitter, is a plus! The baby face can really bring the life and true capability of most Studio Monitors. I was using the Behringer U-phoria 404HD interface prior to my RME purchase. The sound change was noticeable. The Behringer had a cloudier sound and the vocals were too upfront. Once I plugged in the Babyface, I heard all the background ambience, all the instruments and the proper levels of all the frequencies. It made my Monitors sound like open back headphones with a really good amplifier. It was a very pleasant experience, especially for an audiophile. The lesson I learned is, If you need grade A sound for mixing and mastering, price is definitely a serious consideration. I tried to buy a cheaper interface and found out the hard way, you get what you pay for. Meaning, great sounding interfaces (DAC) cost more money. There is no way around that. Especially if you take clean, professional sound seriously. RME, Highly recommend.

This thing is AMAZING. It’s all BUS POWERED over USB 2.0.It’s running on my Apple MacBook Air with Apple Silicon M1 and Big Sur 11.6 MacOS. Don’t be fooled by Thunderbolt, USB 3 or USB-C RME is the only ones to make their own drivers. I am getting 3.2ms latency @44.1KHz. The converters sound linear and PERFECT. Read here: https://www.rme-usa.com/rme-usb-technology.htmlNo pops, no clicks, no stutters, no dropouts. Solid as a ROCK.

Ive been through 5 different interfaces in the past few years and I recently picked up the RME Babyface Pro FS. It’s the only one that’s made it. It’s literally the last one standing. I needed to get a Mac with more GB and storage and it was the only one still rocking after all the updates and upgrades. One by one they all fell away mostly because of software issues and not being stable. It’s been Rock Steady and never fails me. I wholeheartedly recommend this over any other interface for sound and stability. It’s clean and quiet. If Total Mix software could run native plug-ins. There would be no other interface worth looking at period. TotalMix is great so there’re 99% of the way there.
Sound
Very quiet and clean. TotalMix is great.

What makes RME so great is dependability on top of quality.

I have not really had any need to contact them. Was a little intensive getting the drivers downloaded correctly because of the age of my Mac, but not too hard to figure out.
The Wow Factor
RME is so good now I’m looking to upgrade to the Fireface UCXII Interface.

I used to have a large project recording studio and a bass player
