This is true bypass, so you can use it without power, which is great. I use it because I've had my pedal power come unplugged while playing, and with this, I can just switch to direct-to-amp with a press of a button if that happens or if anything in my pedal chain comes unplugged or malfunctions. I also have a multi-fx pedal with no off switch (you have to press both footswitches at once to bypass it and it's very picky about your timing - sometimes it takes 3 or 4 tries to switch it off, and that's no good in a live setting), so I also use this to bypass that pedal. I love that it has two loops, yet it's very compact (it's not too much bigger than a standard Boss pedal, just a bit wider). The ground lift function is a nice touch. This pedal is very durable, rugged, and well-made. It's really expensive for what it is, but thanks to zZounds' great payment plan, the price isn't too much of an issue for me. I'd highly recommend it.
