I ordered these because it’s all my budget allowed at the time. After scouring the internet for reviews on them, I was convinced that they were sound to sound like trash can lids and would just have to suffice until I could upgrade. But after getting them I really think they sound fantastic and so does everyone else who hears them including my son who is already an experienced drummer. I’ll probably use them for a few years anyway instead of a few months like I had originally thought

Sound
The ride sounds great, but I find the crash sound kind of harsh. Hi-hat is good for the price.
Quality
Still in 1 piece

I think the price fits the product well, but for 50 dollars more you can get way better sounding cymbal sets.

I’m a firm believer that you get what you pay for. These brass cymbals are no different. They’re sheet brass that are stamped out and pressed. Nothing more, nothing less. Do they go “PPSSSSSSSHHHHH” when you hit them? You bet. Do they have bright, ringy, overtones too? Yup. Are they good for someone just starting out. Of course. But, if you have the option available to you to buy non-brass cymbals, do it! (I mean, unless you like the twangy, overtoney sounds these pie pans give you) Also, if you’re just starting out and wonder “WHY THE HECK IS A SINGLE RIDE $1,000?!?!” Then I suggest you YouTube how they make cymbals. Handmade, bronze alloy cymbals sound so much better than brass and they’re worth the money! All in all I’d give these Paiste Brass 101’s: 4/10TL:DR Cheap, good to fill hardware. Don’t sound amazing.

"Disappointing"

I like to try new things and this time, it didn't work out so well. The hi hats are decent, at best. The crash cymbals have a strange, displeasing overtone to them when struck toward the edge of the cymbal. If using them as accents with the tip of the stick they aren't too bad. I ended up using the 18" crash/ride as strictly a ride. I have it tightened all the way down so there is no resonance from the cymbal. The 20" ride isn't terrible. Overall, I would say to spend a little more or get the basic hi hats, crash, ride set up. Unfortunately I cannot return these sub par cymbals so I will make do.
