I’ve had many interfaces over the years, but this one is by far the best out of the box. Some people believe that expensive equals quality, but the Quantum Series debunks that assumption. I got the ES2 for my mobile rig purposes, but after playing with it for a couple of hours I realized that this thing could become the centerpiece of my studio. Two words: Auto Gain… As a seasoned enthusiast I understand gain staging and all that stuff, so to get a level on vocals in 10 seconds is a nice perk that saves time and keeps guesswork out of the equation. Universal Control is a godsend for those that record alone and their mic is a little distance away from their desk. The clean gain you get from the mic pres and the guitar DI is also very impressive at this price point. You wanna know what the best feature is at this price? IT HAS A POWER BUTTON! If you’re just starting out, or just want to improve your setup but don’t have a lot of money, grab one of these. You won’t be disappointed.
