I (finally) made the switch to djing digitally, and i'm happy to report that i won't be turning back. the SB2 is priced perfectly to allow you to take a step into the digital dj world without making a heavy financial investment while still providing you with PLENTY of features.
Sound
the sound on this mixer is excellent. once i was able to get the contour set correctly on the crossfader, my transitions have been liquid smooth. EQ dials work great.
Features
assignable FX buttons are great. whoever decided to put 2 types of headphone jacks (1/8" & 1/4") on this thing is a GENIUS! :-D Intro DJ comes free, and if you are new to digital djing like i am, i strongly suggest you spend some time working with Intro before upgrading to Serato DJ.
Ease of Use
the SB2 is very easy to use right out of the box. it's easy to figure out how the play-cue buttons work, and the hot cue buttons are also easy to figure out. there is no labeling on the auto-loop buttons to tell you their length, but hitting each one answers that immediately. do spend some time reading up on the documentation as there are a lot of features that are not readily understandable.
Quality
being my first experience with a controller, i expected it to be a little more hefty. it feels very lightweight to me, but i'm coming from a bulky, metal mixer (djm-500) to a plastic board, so it's not surprising to feel that way. i have a few negatives on the design: - trim knobs are very small making small adjustments difficult. - only 5 VU meters (3 green, 1 yellow, 1 red) - pitch control sliders are short and stiff. - mic level control is a very small knob on the side of the board. - listening to master in headphones, i could not hear the mic.
Value
excellent value

My boyfriend absolutely loves his controller! I got it for him about a week and a half before Christmas, not only did I get it on time. But everything was in perfect condition. This system is so easy to start all over, Very light and it has everything! He use to use vinyls back then. So this system is the best next thing. I really recommend this product and zZounds to anyone trying to start out again.

I have used this controller for almost a year now and I have only one real complaint. The jog wheel I wish had some sort of light as it's hard to see in dark venues. I recommend placing a bright jog wheel sticker on your wheels to make it easier to see. I have mine in a flight case and looks sharp. The ease of the knobs are smooth and crossfade is on point. I can't wait to see what pioneer comes up with on the next ddj sb!

"Great Controller for DJay Pro"

I got this controller last minute to "busy up" my work area for a DJ gig I was called in to do last minute. I haven't DJ'ed in years, mind you and by any professional standard have no idea what I'm doing. But the Pioneer DDJ-SB2 DJ Controller was just the thing to make me look like I knew what all "the cool kids" where doing these days. It was incredibly easy to use. I use it with Djay Pro and even though it's billed as "For Serato" the cross-platform compatibility was flawless. Every feature has worked great. The feed the disks are authentic (for all I know). The unit itself is really light which I guess is a feature(?) - but it'd feel more substantial with more weight. All in all this is a great product and comes highly recommended for an entry level control that has more than enough features for most things anyone would notice you doing live...

Nice lightweight controller but works horrible. Tracks sometimes play in reverse and you causes embarrassment while trying to perform. Serato Intro is pure junk and you have to pay an additional $100 to get the Serato DJ software. I would not recommend this controller even for the beginner DJ.
