It allowed me to re-organize my studio with the potential to have both/either TRS or XLR connector ions. Today, as my environment is better supported by TRS setup , I wen in that direction. If in the future, I need to re-configure because of a change in mixer setup, I can purchase the XLR breakout and continue. The cables are very nicely made and I am not locked into a one-way situation. I am very happy with my purchase.
