The guitar itself is good quality. The out of the box setup was very good and needed very little adjustment to action or intonation. The pickups are very usable and I will not be swapping them. The Autotune function works like it is supposed to and is great for mid-song tune changes! I especially enjoy the funky tunings that aren't possible on a regular guitar like a hybrid bass/guitar. Dropped A or straight G sound just as good as standard. My only complaint is the extra hardware necessary to update the firmware and install additional software. Overall a great package and I have no buyers remorse.
Sound
The guitar sounds great just through the passive pickups; it is exactly what you would expect from a mid-range rock guitar. The Autotune sounds natural and allows the nuances of your playing to shine through. The pickup selector still works when Autotune is engaged, so playing and dialing in your tone is just as natural as any electric guitar. The only drawback is the drop in volume when switching on Autotune.
Features
Most useful feature is definitely Autotune! That's why you buy this guitar. It works exactly as it should and keeps you in tune no matter where on the neck you play. The alternate tunings are great and even detuning to the bass arena won't digitize the tone. Upgrading the firmware gets you acoustic sounds as well as pickups modeled on famous instruments and open tunings. Definitely worth the price!
Ease of Use
It's a very playable guitar and the Autotune function works great as is. However, updating with additional features is much more difficult than it should be. Even if you already have midi equipment around, the nonstandard 8 pin din connection in the guitar requires the purchase of the Peavey Breakout Box to convert to the standard 5 pin then another device to convert midi to USB. The end result is worth the hassle with additional pickup models, tunings, capo capabilities, 12 string emulation and the ability to store presets to the first string!
Quality
I have always been a Peavey fan; my first electric guitar was a 1992 Predator and I still play it. The AT-200 is based on the new Predator and does not disappoint! Fit and finish are good, playability is dead on, and tone is very usable. The Autotune is a great addition and the whole package feels quality.
Value
I pickup this up as a dent and scratch (with nary a mark on it!) and paid less than new price. For that, this was easily worth the purchase price. I would pay full price for this guitar, but would considerably more disappointed at the additional cost of hardware and cables necessary to update.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't had any need to contact Peavey. Ever. On anything I've ever purchased from them. Antares is a new company to me, but using their site was easy enough and I have not had to contact them for support.
The Wow Factor
This guitar is ALL wow factor! I did a video review and will show it to other musicians on my phone and WOW is the standard response every time the guitar tunes itself!

Musical Background:

I have been playing guitar since 1992, have been in several bands but mostly just play with myself now ;)

"SWEET FANCY MOSES! This guitar is awesome!!!"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars

Yep ... It's that cool ... Don't be afraid of the technology you bunch of sissy's who think this might take away from your personal expression through playing this guitar ... It will not hold you back at all ... The contrary is true ... This opens up a new world of playing in alternate tunings at the push of a button without having to monkey with retuning for each song :::examples ... "She talks to angles "by the black crows .. Open E .. Start me up Rolling Stones Open G ..". Rocky mountain High " John Denver Drop D ... "Name " by goo goo dolls custom tuning DAEAAE ... Bam! Switching between completely different sounds is a breeze ! How often can you play an acoustic 12 string baritone guitar ?? With this baby you can get some real crazy combination ... Only reason it's a 4.5 is that I feel like the software upgrades are over priced ... But they are definitely a great upgrade Peace out ....
