After getting disappointed bye epiphone I figured I'd try one of these. It is definitely worthy of all the hipe PRS has been getting. Mine is setup perfectly right outta the box. Neck is not a baseball bat. Not skinny or thin but just right. Great tone. Easy playability. I will change the pickups only because I already bought some for it. After jamming out with this I was really surprised at all the harmonics and squeals coming out of this guitar I mean it was great blew me away. Will not be my last PRS but my first . Next I'm getting the custom 24.

I've probably been through a dozen electric guitars in the last 2 years. Some were nice, but most were garbage. I decided to grab the SE 245. The price was right and all the reviews were good. Well, reviews cannot do justice to this instrument. It's basically flawless. Setup was great out of the box. Intonation was nearly spot on. The pickups are warm and articulate. Sounds great clean, but it absolutely shines with some overdrive. I normally cannot leave any guitar stock. I change hardware, pickups, etc. This one needs none of that. If anything gets changed, it will be purely cosmetic, although the guitar is beautiful as is. I can't believe it's under a grand. The ONLY issue I found was a slight ping in the nut slot on the high E string, but that was easily remedied. A lot of folks are recommending the SE locking tuners, but they are not necessary. The headstock offers a nearly straight string pull, so it stays in tune very well. It's a shorter scale than a traditional single cut, but once you get used to it, it feels right. Don't hesitate to get one. I'm sure every PRS is a quality instrument and the 245 is a great example.

All I can say about this fine guitar is WOW!!! Never have I ever had a guitar come so we’ll set up and playable straight out of the box - until now! I literally only needed to tune it and I was immediately playing - and enjoying! This is an extremely well built instrument at a very reasonable price! This is my 1st PRS guitar and let me tell you I couldn’t be happier! They really knocked it out of the park! If you’re contemplating buying one of these awesome instruments, DO IT!!!!! I guarantee you won’t be disappointed!

I have been a guitar player for more than 40 years and this guitar has exceeded my expectations, period. To put this into frame my last guitar was a Gibson R8 which I loved. But do to a hand injury a few years ago I thought I was done and sold it off. Fast forward a few years and a surgery later and I'm back. I bought this guitar as more of a test to see if I could really still play and I'm doing OK, yah. The fit and finish on this guitar rivals other brands in the thousands of dollars, no question. The most important feature of any guitar is its' neck and mine is perfect, no fret buzz or dead spots. The only upgrade I've done is replace the stock pickups with a set of Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates and it sounds and plays GREAT! Tonally I'd put it somewhere between an SG and a Les Paul, IMO. For the money I really, really feel you can't go wrong with this guitar, especially at it's price point. If you want a little more bling buy it with the maple veneer and for the money you're good again. Or save the upgrade charge and order a set of good pickups and you're all set right out of the gate.

OK..., I'm an old guitarist who quit playing years ago due to a fretting hand injury. A year ago I had surgery on it because of complications and it has recovered wonderfully. My guitar that I had back then was a Gibson R8 which I loved dearly. Coming back to try and play again I thought I buy an inexpensive LP model. Well let me tell you this guitar is perfection and after putting in a matched pair of 57' pickups, she just sings. Unless you need the Gibson trademark on the headstock these PRS guitars are just plane Great, period.
