OMG this guitar is the most amazing instrument I have ever had the joy of holding. All the critics can kiss my a**. They can say what they want about the core series to justify the price but the value of this one is incredible. It plays so easy and feels great. Fretwork is phenomenal and no need to adjust anything right out of the box. I plugged it into my blackstar HT-5 combo and played While My Guitar Gently Weeps and was in heaven!! The tones are out of this world. SO resonant with SO much feel. I sold my LTD EC-1000 and I'm never going back. This thing has better harmonics and can get a real good metal tone as far as I'm concerned. Squeals and feels abound. Thank you Zzounds for helping me get the guitar of my dreams!! Thank You!!

Wow...This is a great guitar. The tone is rich, and the feel and action are perfect. The coil splitting allows you to produce several distinct sounds and moods. The look of the black cherry finish is fantastic. This is my new favorite to play.

"Perfect Balance of Tone and Playability"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars

I had always wanted a PRS guitar. I needed something light-weight, and high quality. Most of all, playability was a must. This instrument truly fits the bill. Beautiful sound out of the humbuckers, and simply a beautiful look. This thing does not go out of tune!

"Great balance of Quality, Price, Playability and Beauty"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I always wanted a PRS guitar, but I spent some time evaluating models before making a decision. This guitar is very light, which enables extended playing time for me. The tonal qualities are varied, as you've got true coil splitting that is actually very effective. Out of the box, the setup was good, but a little high. This was easily adjusted. Fit and finish are gorgeous, although the top woods are somewhat different than the highest end PRS guitars. If you're on the fence with this one, just go for it! You won't be disappointed. I would suggest getting a good hard shell case, which can be a Roadrunner for example.

This guitar is phenomenal! I really enjoyed playing it, through an old Sunn concert lead. Tonally, the Pickups were not too bright, or chimey, on the high-end. They reached the lower frequencies with ease and clarity! This guitar can be used for almost any style of playing, from traditional Rock to high-production Black Metal. With the Semi-hollow style, it sounded just right!

Great playability. I owned a PRS Custom prior to this one and fooled around and sold it. Deeply regret that now, but very satisfied with the S2 custom 22. The humbuckers are very good sounding although I find the coil tap feature useless and don't ever use it. I guess the only disappointment I have with this guitar is there is nowhere on it that says "made in USA". WTF?
