I would buy another if this was stolen! Great workingman's acoustic electric!
Sound
For the money, very hard to beat if you want an affordable well built, solid top acoustic-electric for gigging and casual recording. Acoustically (when not plugged in), I'd rate it an 8. Plugged into a pa or mixing board, I give it a 10. It really shines when plugged in. My only complaint was the phosphor bronze strings that came on the guitar. They sound too mid-rangy. I replaced them plain old bright-bronze, and it made a huge difference. Much more balanced and pleasing. And through a PA, it sounds awesome. I gig in a working band, and we need an acoustic electric for just a couple songs. Sounds great through a pa with a full band, or by itself. Everyone has been very impressed.
Features
Preamp sounds great! The built in tuner is a nice plus, too. Nice inlays and binding.
Quality
Well built. Plays very good. Plays and stays in tune. Finish is very good for the money. Not quite as nice as the American made Ovations, but still looks and plays good. One important note, the bridge comes installed with a shim to raise the action. Remove the strings and carefully lift the saddle, and you'll see a thin plastic shim. Pull it out and replace the saddle, and you'll get noticably better action!
Value
Again, a really nice guitar. I shopped around, and it's very hard to beat for the money. Just replace the strings with bright bronze, and remove the saddle shim, and you'll have a great playing, great sounding, great looking guitar. I love it!
The Wow Factor
Definitely a very cool looking guitar. Looks great on stage. No one can tell it's not an American made Ovation.
