This is my first 4x12 cabinet purchase after 20 years of playing guitar. I play through a Peavey 6505+, previously through a homemade 2x12 with G12T100s. This is so much better suited to my style. Hard rock and metal in a variety of tunings, clean, dirty, ambient, with a few effects. It just sounds massive. The build quality is top notch, and it looks amazing on stage. I was torn between this and the Mesa Rectifier cab. I don't think you can go wrong with either for this kind of music, so I decided the aesthetics of the Orange were more my thing. I'm totally happy to have this cab. I've been lusting after Orange gear most of my guitar playing life, so it feels good to finally have a piece. Now to get a head to match :)

"This thing is a beastly cranking machine"

When I originally began looking for a specific sound for myself after years of playing with mesas and Marshalls etc, orange was probably six on my list, and mostly because of their advertisements being geared toward a classic sort of tone and build, and certainly because of their history thus. However, I decided to try one out with my setup and never ever looked back. The tone is probably the sweetest when I'm using solid state and when I amp switch and head over to the tube head I get no extra noise, no dropouts, no buzzing and best of all, I get total amp control. I lose none of my tone either way, and the compression cloth that the grille is made from almost mixes and filters perfectly! This cab is loud, clear, and excellent for all types of music. I play jazz and heavy metal, so this cab gets put through it's paces either way. The thing straight up kicks ass
