"worth considering."
if you only need three channels, and would like some FX to play with... this is the perfect choice for an intermediate dj, and at a great price to boot.
Sound
24-bit digital sound, baby. works great with my tt500's.
Features
i like the feel of the controls on this mixer. i can't imagine mixing without the built-in digital effects array now that i've gotten used to having the option to tweak my sound, especially before, during, and after breakdowns! i'm looking to get rid of mine now because unfortunately, i've outgrown it. i need something with more inputs so i can hook up a third turntable, sampler, etc.
Ease of Use
when you first get your hands on one of these, you'll spend the first week playing with the effects, eq kills, etc. i'd recommend going to numark's site. there you can download the owner's manual in pdf form so you really know what you're getting functionality-wise before you make your decision.
Quality
rock solid... period. all mixers have one sure vulnerability: the faders. luckily, these are easily replaced.
Value
a great value, especially now that the price dropped due to this model's discontinuation. pick one up while they're still around.
Manufacturer Support
they have answered any questions i have had about the product promptly.
The Wow Factor
it's fairly attractive between the decks, the flashing tap button can be distractive when you're not using it though...

"A little mixer that packs a punch of a big powerhouse mixer."

This is a great product that does exactly what Numark said it does. This mixer paired with my 2 Denon DN S3500's give mixing a freedom unheard of. I have 2 15 second sample pads, at least 15 useable effects, ab loop points, a smooth fader, unbelievable sound, compact dimensions, and on the fly creativity with these 3 pieces of equipment.
Sound
The sound is hiss free. It sounds clean; but warmer than most digital products. It is hard to distort the signal. If your amp does clip; you can not tell from the sound.
Features
The mixer has many features of a more costly mixer. It has a smooth cross fader and a 100% digital signal path. The effects found on it are the best in it's class or any other. It has a lot of features for the size. Mixers that are so called a better brand don't have some of these features. It has true Eq kills; along with kill switches. These are good for muting the music signal at the tail of an effect.
Ease of Use
The mixer is easier to use than most big name mixers. I mix House mainly; so I don't need a reverse cross or channel fader; but it's there. Match the PFL's, adjust the fader contour to your liking and move the fader to the center. Very easy. The cool thing is all those useable effects along with those useful kill switches, can be put into the mix with great creativity, without thinking how to apply them. It's customized mixing at it's greatest.
Quality
The Numark of the past was not so good in terms of quality. Numark has done a 360. The company is now a inovator of DJ products with quality built into them. The mixers of today wear like any other mixer brand. The differance is they don't do it prematurely
Value
The mixer is in a class by itself. Most mixers with good reliability cost more. Most mixers with good f/x processors cost more. Most mixers with 3 channels cost more. Also most mixers with 100% digital sigals cost more and don't sound as good. The numark has all for less.
Manufacturer Support
I have never had to use it. I have called Numark about product questions; and they answered them with knowledge about the product.
The Wow Factor
If you ever demo this mixer in the store you will want one. I was going to get a Tascam x9; because of features. Also the mixer is greatly discounted because it has been discontinued. The useability of Numark over the Denon DN X1500, Pioneer DJM 600, and Tascam x9 is unbelievable. Put into perspective the type of music I spin.
