Like to sell it now!
Sound
Sound is very good. Video is very good.
Features
Use ful features are the menu buttons for selection. Least useful features are non seamless looping. and track selection speed. The video switch is just that a switch with sync jump.
Quality
The quality of the DVD01 is great! But the performance is very poor.
Value
Too expensive for what it does.
Manufacturer Support
Freindly but not helpful.
The Wow Factor
Nice idea but too slow to be practible.

"If you can live with the limitations..."

Overall: 2.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Purchaser zZounds has verified that this reviewer purchased this specific product from us.
I installed in a bar based on the price/performance it had, knowing that it will have to be replace in a few years. Although I have reservations about the performance of the unit, it was the best alternative at this time for the price.
Features
Fine for lower end uses where you want to play DVD video, but has too many drawbacks for serious use. Expect to replace it in a few years when better low cost options are available. Switching between disks often jumps as there is no sync between the two. The "Black" output option cuts the video signal rather than outputting black so projectors then start searching for a signal (workaround is to put on side in "cue" and use that as a blank, black source). Lag is present when hitting play; loop has a long pause at the end; pitch controls are too coarse; extremely minimal instruction manual.
Ease of Use
Poor manual with only very basic information (basically just a one line description of each control). Controls have poor response time with a lag in playing that makes beat matching difficult.
Quality
Improper packing by Numark of B-Stock items (two layers of bubble wrap then dropped in a cardboard box) increases the likelihood of shipping damage (unit arrived with broken rack ears) and no way easily to ship it insured in the future (most carriers will refuse coverage if elecronic items aren't in original factory packaging).
Value
It's the low price alternative. You get what you pay for, it's fine if you can live with it's shortcomings.
Manufacturer Support
Tech people have little knowledge of the product, having put me on hold numerous times to answer basic questions. Phone support number is not published.
The Wow Factor
Would have purchased something else had there been a viable option.

"OK Player for a Good price but short on features."

Overall: 3.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
It's a decent player for the price. Espically with the Pioneer at almost 5 times more for just one. If I had the money I'd rather have 1 DVJ-X1 then this unit but for the money it's better than a home model.
Sound
The sound quality is on par with other prosumer models on the maket
Features
It plays Cd and DVD. The keys are slow to use and a little clunky. The program selections are very slow to Que. Hot start don't work well. Non seamless loop is terrible. The built-in video mixer is just a A B switch with a blackout setting. Impossible to use and cue without a preview monitor. I only use it with a video mixer so transitions are not a problem for me.
Quality
Quality is good for the price. Buttons are plastic like and cheezy but the system has held up well on the road for the past 7 months.
Value
It's the only rack mount dual deack DVD player on the market. It's better than any home model but no comparision to the Pioneer.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't needed any.
The Wow Factor
You either buy this or shell out $6000 for 2 DVJ-X1's. Kinda a no brainer.

"Falls short of "I Have To Have One""

Overall: 2 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Already sent it back. Had it less than 30 day.
Sound
Sound was pretty much on par with all other CD players.
Features
Very slow tracking (fast fwd or reverse from one track to the next). The DVD's I used had between 40 and 50 songs on them. If the song I wanted was near the end, I couldn't get the player to FFW fast enough to get to the track, get it cued and beatmatched with the song currently playing. If I can't do that, then I don't need the pitch adjust. Returned it to store because of this issue.
Quality
Prodcut decently made. Didn't keep it long enough to test road-worthiness. Sent back to store because of slow tracking.
Value
With slow tracking and lack of Jog wheel, I would not pay the full price for it.. Fix those two items, add seamless loop and you would have a $1200 DVD system I would break speed limits to get.
Manufacturer Support
N/A
The Wow Factor
With only one current competitor at a much higher price (pioneer, almost $3000), you don't have much choice. But, as compared to the competitor, I love the 19" rack mount... Very nice.

"Nice player but...."

Overall: 1.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
Sound
Sound quality is good.
Features
Can not jump tracks easily. Must wait for each track to load before moving to next track. The dvd will pitch @ 50% but cd's will only pitch at 5%.
Ease of Use
Nice player but very slow in queing up.
Manufacturer Support
They didn't seem to care about the inability to go from track to track with no software mods planned.
The Wow Factor
Excellent sales appeal. But a real letdown after owning one.

"This product makes Numark look like a joke. Don't waste your money. Terrible product marketed for DJ's that is useless to a DJ"

Overall: 0.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)

Dissatisfied is an understatement. This product should never have been released to the public and makes Numark look like a joke.
Sound
This is crap. Useless for DJ'ing and that's what it was made for. About a 0.7 second delay after hitting play on a cued track before the song or video will start. No way to add bug fixes on this model either. Don't waste your money. You mine as well DJ with home DVD players.
Features
It does not work as what it was designed for. Loops have a long pause.
Ease of Use
It's easy to use but still USELESS.
Quality
see previous notes.
Value
Crap crap crap.
Manufacturer Support
No upgrades. No fix for looping and cueing problems.
The Wow Factor
pretty buttons don't make up for it being crap.

"not for a beatmixing dj"

Overall: 1.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
it is useless for djing. the speed changes in big steps. it as a slider to change the speed but that is decieving. it should just have a knob for normal, faster, too fast, double the original speed witch is useless, and it just gets faster. it also is the same when slowing down a track. the pitch also changes with the speed so if you speed it up one notch and you have a male singer he sounds female. it you speed it up two you have "the chimpmonks". now it also has a pitch shifter so you can undo this, but once you use it the sound quality sucks like really bad web radio. going from track to track takes forever its like .it needs start playing track 1 before it goes to track 2 and so on and so on. so if you want to play track 30 it will take about 30 seconds to get there. the worst part is that the que is useless. when you are in que or pause and you hit play it takes a second to start playing. witch makes it useless for beatmixing. my advice if you want to use dvd players and don't want to spend $7,000 you can use a computer and software like mixmiester or just get two cheap dvd players but make sure it has a display on the machine, all the buttons on the front so you don't have to use the remote, and make sure the pause and playback are instant so you can pause on a beat and unpause on that same beat. as long as you play a song that is close to the same speed you can unpause your next track slightly before or after the current beat then as the beats match up you can mix to the next track.

"Numark Missed the Mark"

Overall: 1 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Sound
We purchased this unit for our bar thinking it would do everything we wanted without having to go for the expence of the Pioneer system. When installed it looked great but that was about all. I played a mixmash disc which works fine in other units but not this one..The player locks up upon reading the disc and will not let you eject the dvd it just sticks in play mode doing nothing, you have to power down the unit at the mains then power up and keep hitting eject before it try's to read the disc. This also happens on any dirty or warn disc's they also go blocky like a poor digital signal. According to the numark service dept this is a software error that has no fix at the moment.. The time lag between hitting the play button and the dvd playing can vary up to 3 seconds (also a software problem) which cannot be speeded up. The audio when pitched up or down splits from the picture and you get a lip sinc delay when you pitch back up as the unit try's to catch up with its self the audio goes back to normal first followed by the picture lagging behind. When using CD's and trying to scroll backwards to cue up a track you cannot do it frame by frame you can only fast rewind and try to stop the track in the right place. All of these problems are crucial to performance in any venue and numark have missed the mark with what would have been a well priced unit that should have sold well. Ive gone back to 2
