"A No Brainer"
This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
No brainer...buy it. I will keep my K-Station for a very long time. Notwithstanding the fact that it was my first synth (of many), I simply use it in every composition. The bass lines are phenomenal and it is highly tweakable...a great addition to any studio. For the price, you simply will not find something better...trust me, I have tried.
Sound
The K-Station has a variety of sounds. Undoubtedly, it's strongest attribute is its bass sounds. I must admit, the strings are a little bit weak and some of the arp sounds are just not satisfactory for my tastes. Overall, however, I think the quality of the sounds is outstanding and for the bass and leads alone it is worth the purchase price. There is high chance that if you are into hip hop, trance, house, or other dance oriented sounds, you won't be disappointed with the sounds offered by the K-Station.
Features
Jesus, you can't have more knobs and options in synthesizer. Seriously, if you are into tweaking knobs to create the sounds you like, this instrument will make you a very happy person. When looking at the sub-menus, it becomes apparent, this baby has a ton of features.
Quality
It is a heavyweight, solid piece of kit. The knobs may be the best I have ever seen on a piece of music equipment. Everything is laid out nice and the keys feel great. This is an extremely high quality instrument for the price.
Value
I would say that for the price, you are simply going to be hard pressed to find something better. I think it is superb and would not give it up for anything in its price range. You will not be disappointed with the overall value of this purchase.
