"The most versatile ODR-1"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars

Get one before they sell out, because this isn't a standard Nobels ODR-1. If you want one that sounds this good, you need to buy an original 90's. The only thing is, those don't have the bass cut pot. The new standard ODR-1 has a bass cut switch, with no ability to fine tune. They said they replicated the best sounding original ODR-1 they could find for this anniversary edition, and I don't think they were lying. Worth the extra cost over the standard ODR-1. I will say the fit and finish could be better, but it's not really that expensive, so it's not a huge knock on Nobels.
Sound
Find the comparisons on YouTube between this and the standard or vintage version. It sounds nearly identical to the vintage.
Features
The bass cut knob gives you total control over the low end.
Ease of Use
It's hard to find a bad sound. Good noises just spill out of this thing no matter what I do with the knobs. Using it as a boost or overdrive, it just sounds rich and full.
Quality
Cosmetically, there are a couple of rough edges near the pedal flap seam but overall it looks great. It feels like a solid pedal, but I haven't had it long enough to really speak on the durability.
Value
Considering the cost of a 1990's Nobels ODR-1, and the fact that the modern ones really don't sound exactly the same, this is worth every penny. It sounds like a 90's ODR-1.
The Wow Factor
Most ODR-1's look like they're trying to be Tube Screamers, even though they aren't. This one doesn't.

"Smushed Collectors Box"

Overall: 0.5 out of 5 stars

zZounds has to figure out how to ship their items for more protection, first, last year a kick drum box was gouged and ripped halfway into the box, a couple of small chunks were taken out of the hoop and bearing edge, should have called last year but this time around, this Nobels was sent, and the edge of the box smushed in (its a collector's item!). Shipping companies will do this to gear, and now since the pedal can function, I have to pay shipping to get this pedal shipped back. I will never use zZounds again. Taking my business back to the other popular retailers.
