I've been using a dual setup of the Two Notes Opus for about a year and have been impressed with the DynIR cabs. The preamps, while very good, sometimes were a little limiting as to what I was looking to create. I had heard about Neural for a while but never got comfortable with amp captures based upon my experience with Tonex. Decided to give the Nano a try and I'm glad I did.At first, this was just going to be a preamp for me as I now have the two Opus' at the end of my chain for cab modeling only. Downloaded a couple of captures from the Cortex Cloud and was blown away by some of them. The tones out of this unit are just real. Natural and real. The unit responds to playing dynamics beautifully which I believe is a testament to how Neural married hardware and software so perfectly. As stated, I was originally going to use this for the amps but honestly, the onboard drives, modulation and delays are excellent so I programmed these effects using my Morningstar MC8. The Nano runs into my H90 and then my Walrus R1 into the Opus units for DI out. Here's how I see it. At this price point, you can get 1 1/2 UA pedals, 1 1/4 Walrus Mako amp sims. Both great. But with the Nano, you can grab literally any amp and have access to some really excellent effects. Ive also captured a couple of my own amps and they sound fantastic. For me, the Nano is ideal.

Ill start by saying that I have Archetype Gojira and Nolly Neural DSP plugins and I've tried every other plugin they have on their site. If you buy this modeler you will never have the need to buy any of those, afterwards. The tones that the Neural AI captures can't be differentiated of, lets say a 5150 Stealth or a ENGL Fireball. For some reason I'm not able to dial in Neural Plugins as good as my nano. It's likely because i havent shelled out for premium IR cabs.Design: I like how minimal the panel is. There is an EQ, gain, capture selector, FX button, bank, and two footswitches for channels. I'm not overwhelmed trying to dial my mix nor do I get lost in the process. If you're new to modelers it's user friendly and not intimidating whatsoever. I love taking my nano to my girlfriends house on my days off from work. I just put in my back pack with a TRS cable, usb-c, my Sennheiser M4s and my macbook. I love how easy it is to experience the creative process while I'm on vacation. The possibilities are endless.Bluetooth Interface: This is something new in the modeling world and you no longer need a pc to edit your signal chain. When you get your Nano, you'll have update the firmware and that process takes around 15 minutes to complete. After the update you open the app and your inface will show you a picture of your pedal with your led lights and nobs mirroring your current settings. At the top there will be your foot switch assignments for your channels, your neural captures, cabs/IRs and your effects chain. It took me a bit to get used editing my signal chain getting the right cabs. Cabs are a major factor in your tone and the stock ones are amazing for me but a lot of people dont' like them and end up opting out for paid IRs.Currently I'm running the Gojira EVH 5150 capture into a 412 Brit and I have the adaptive gate to give mean punching chugs. I have the green 808 OD with a chief module with the mix at 1 to make it cut through a mix. I havent been able get a wet, raw and aggressive tone with any other amp sim or plugin before and it's great to be able to put in a mix, up plug, take on the road and play it anywhere... I should note that I could get a tone thats equal to what I have using plug ins but I havent spend time, energy and money IRs.Capturing and Sharing: I dont' have an amp right now nor have I tried to share a captured tone before. The only gripe I have: It doesn't have enough slots. This is everyones issue but it's easy to fix. By midi footswitches...Over all I'm very satisfied for my purchase and I know theres other options out there that are cheaper and can sound just as good. Were at a point with technology where the race for authentic tube sound is over. Almost every modeler that's $350 or more, will sound great. The only difference is the interface and how its able to stand out for you to craft your tone.
