"Big Maschine in a smaller package"

I purchased the larger version of Maschine when it first came out and loved it, but was torn between it and some of my other controllers since I have limited desk space. So, I decided to try Maschine Mikro and boy did it help with the space problems while giving me everything that the bigger Maschine did. Even though it only has one screen and not as many knobs, I have only found those things to make me click one or two times more with my mouse than the big Maschine. Other than that the work flow and ease of use is still superb. Would recommend this to anyone who doesnt have the coin for the big Maschine, has limited desk space, or wants to be introduced to what Maschine has to offer.

Oh I plan on keeping this all the way through college. If It was stolen I'd probably end up buying a regular Maschine.
Sound
It's freaking amazing! I'm fairly new to the music scene but I throw on my Shure headphones(which I bought from Zzounds!), and every time I hear a new sound a piece of me just freaks out because there are like endless possibilities of what to do.
Features
Unlike its larger brother, the Mikro lacks another screen and all the interactive knobs, but makes up for it in its smaller size and more affordable price. If you buy it before the end of the year you even get a free kit with it, not to mention the Komplete Elements that come with it. Inside the hardware you can adjust sounds to the way you want them, splice samples, and cut together pretty much everything.
Ease of Use
There are videos on the Maschine website and I have only watched one so far until i get into the more advanced stages, but everything is mad easy to use in the interface. After watching it once I already know how to lace together sounds. Like, I'm sure you could go live with this thing if you wanted to make music on the stage, because it's that simple to piece together everything! The screen on it is the best part, because it allows you to not even have to look up at the computer screen. I've been making music so far, and my computer screen has been cutting off but it hasn't bothered me.
Quality
Oh man, the product. Like the old 808's and akai products they used to make, this thing has some weight to it. I recently bought an akai mpk mini and that is made of plastic, but his is made of some nice metals. I'm sure you could drop it a couple times (although that would be a horrible idea and the booklet says not to do that) and it would be perfectly fine. On top of that, everytime it turns on it does this cool light wave thing. Also the pads light up and let you know what sound you are on when you're creating your music.
Value
It's totally worth the price because it does everything the regular Maschine does in half the size.
Manufacturer Support
I haven't had any problems yet.
The Wow Factor
Why you think I bought this?! I've been looking at the Maschine since this summer, and last summer on the SamAsh site, but then I found Zzounds. and then this Mikro came along and solved all my problems! The look of it, and how it brings everything into one program makes me want it the most.

"The Maschine Mikro. I love It!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I found this product to meet and greatly exceed my expectations. The fact that you get the full sound and functionality of the Maschine in the more compact Maschine Mikro- for about two-thirds the price- is simply phenomenal. Greatly more than 1000 sounds , as well as an interface that- once figured out- is fairly easy to use. There are only a few things that I do not like about it. The one is that the program is very touchy, and it's very easy to make a mistake, which can be frustrating, and takes up time. One other thing I found is that the Program takes a long time to figure out. I would seriously recommend finding the user manual, and reading it from top to bottom. Another thing I find that helps is looking at some of the manufacturer's sample songs. These give you an overview of what a finalized song looks like, and helped me to make my own. Other than those two very minute "quirks"; the program sounds great, is worth the price, and is built like a steel girder. I love the program and the pad, they feel good, and make for a great musical experience.

I have been around music since I can remember. I play a little piano, and have ten years of Drumming experience.
