I picked up the On-Stage PS901 and mounted it underneath my Pedalbay 80. Right off the bat, it’s tiny and fits perfectly under there without taking up valuable space.Right now, it’s powering my Boss Metal Zone, Soldano preamp pedal, fuzz, octave, Morley wah, and Lichtlaerm noise gate, and it’s handling all of them like a champ. I daisy chained the drive section (fuzz, octave, and Soldano) and ran separate cables to the wah and noise gate. No hum, no buzz, no weird noise. Just clean power and solid tone.On the same board, I’ve also got a Tonex and a Line 6 HD500X. I already knew the PS901 wouldn’t power the Line 6, so I didn’t even bother trying since I’ve got a power strip strapped to the back of the board for that stuff. I did, however, test the Tonex on the PS901’s 9V 1A output since I read online it could work. Technically it did, but I started hearing a light hiss in the signal. The noise gate mostly killed it, but it was still faintly there when I played. After isolating everything, it was definitely coming from the Tonex. So, I just plugged the Tonex into the power strip with its own supply, and boom, dead silent. Everything sounds great again.Bottom line, this thing is awesome for analog pedals. If you’re running high draw digital gear, you’ll probably want a beefier or more expensive supply. But for around 60 bucks, this little guy is totally worth it. It’s tidy, it works, and it keeps my smaller pedals running clean.Once I upgrade from the HD500X to an HX Effects or something else, I’ll probably step up to a bigger power setup that can handle both the Tonex and HX, maybe even feed the PS901 with its 18v in.In short:✅ Perfect for analog boards✅ Quiet operation✅ Fits tight spaces⚡ Not ideal for high draw digital gearThis thing fits right into an ongoing pedalboard project without breaking the bank. Highly recommend it if you just need to clean up your setup and keep the small pedals powered right.
