This is a nice mix between heavy duty and light weight in a telescoping boom stand. You might say: "It adjusts every which way but loose." Our drummer is a left-handed, gadget-oriented knob twirling mix of artistic and mechanical human-metronome. He can be very finnicky about adjusting items to his own satisfaction. He is pleased and content and we expect many years of use from this stand. It is a step up from your basic boom and the mic is where it should be and the stand is completely out of his way.

Musical Background:

I play all styles and various instruments although vocals are my specialty.

Musical Style:

If it's music, I probably really like it.

"SOLID"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars

I'm a working, touring indie musician, and I have to deal with cheap, broken, and sagging mic stands on a weekly, sometimes daily basis. I finally threw down, and ordered something with a little weight behind it. The MS9701TB has exactly that. This thing is SOLID. It doesn't wobble or sag; it feels like the quality will last forever. My only complaint is the vertical telescoping base is a little hard to use, the tightening mechanism doesn't loosen enough to make the base taller without having to really pull it with some weight. However, it tightens well and won't slip. This is a heavy duty stand and just what I needed.
