Let's get the bad out of the way first. The guitar arrived quickly, I paid for overnight and the guitar arrived on time! Unboxing the guitar, it wasn't double boxed and the box the case/guitar comes in had 0 padding. Fortunately, opening the case the guitar was intact and just fine. The first strum, the disappointment set in. Incredibly bad fret-buzz to where I was worried something was wrong. Someone had basically tightened the truss rod all the way and the neck had a ton of bow. A few turns of the easily accessible truss rod adjustment fixed the issue. As someone who typically plays Les Pauls, being able to access the truss rod adjustment so easily was amazing. However, for a $3400 guitar you'd think there'd be a little more QC from zZounds before they ship out an instrument. Now, all that being said. This guitar is hands down the best guitar I've ever played. I own custom shop Les Pauls, Custom Shop Tele's a couple Suhr's, Duesenberg's and a few other "boutique" guitars and this guitar fit and finish is top notch. The stainless steel frets are smooth and there's no fret sprout. The neck feels fast and clean even with it being a gloss finish, you don't really notice it. The pickups are hot, but clear and sound pretty good. Though I still prefer the Motor City pickups I typically put in all my guitars, however these pickups serve a purpose and offer a special/unique sound. The trem is smooth and buttery and the best trem I've played to date. The Piezo is incredible, I mean just mind blowingly convincing. This guitar is so versatile, even if you're not a prog/metal player it doesn't matter, this guitar can do anything. If you're debating the purchase, don't. Get one while you can before prices go up again. However, prepare yourself to have a tech do a setup if you're not comfortable with truss rod/intonation adjustments. The only problem is now that I know how much I love this guitar, now I'm going to have to buy a Majesty as well.
