This bass is fantastic! - It is awesome! To tell the story. I ordered the MTD S5 and the first bass came with the rear pick up only working on one coil. I had to send it back zZounds and they corrected the problem by sending a new replacement bass; this is why I rated quality at 4.5 because, if each of these basses are checked out by the New York MTD shop; how could this quality issue be missed. zZounds responded like super humans and sent a replacement bass - I had the new bass within two days, I sent the first bass back and the replacement I received works perfectly, and is incredible, the neck is fantastic; I never had a bass without a buzzing fret anywhere on it anywhere; I’ve had top-of-the-line bases most of my bass career, I’ve been playing for over 40 years. The strings are laying very low on the fret board; it’s effortless to play and the sound… WHEW! - and I’ve always loved the MM pick up sound, ( I had an original Leo Fender MM bass) that I gigged with extensively, but this one goes further. This one allows you to get the J bass sounds, it also allows you to get the original telecaster base sound (some may say P bass others may say J front pickup sound ) with the single coil neck pick up. The single coil bridge gives you a decent J bridge pick up the sound, also the options of single coil and dual coil, series and parallel, and the balance between the front and rear pick up give you a high level of tone selection, it is an Extremely versatile bass - and the EQ on it… I would never change it, because the bass EQ gets deep and cushy, the treble EQ gets Sizzely and sweet - the mid range EQ gets punchy. I love it. I’ve had it for about two months now and it continues to Wow me. It is clearly my favorite bass and as well as my musician cohorts.

With 35" Maple neck (19mm string spacing), massive dual MM humbuckers and a three position coil tap/series/parallel mini toggle switch for each pickup this Bass speaks for itself.
