MTD Kingston Saratoga Norm Stockton Signature Model is inspirational. It plays itself, the neck is very thin thanks to Norm, MTD & Bartolini’s collaborations. Controls are Uppers (left to right) volume and bless, and the lower controls are treble, middle, & bass. The two switches are active/passive and a 250hz/450hz selector for midrange. Strung with NSJs are strung with Dunlop Super Bright Stainless Steel .045/130 ( the 130 B string is tapered). I got a custom slap ramp & MTD Gig Bag added to mine. Norm shared the features with me at the 2025 NAMM Show, it’s just simply amazing. The steel reinforced neck is super thin and your hand just slides over every area with ease. The tone options are fantastic, like having three basses in one! I can’t recommend this bass enough, it’s my number one player! My Worship Leader & Sound Tech were very impressed with its tone and I’ve received many compliments on its looks too! Thank You Norm Stockton, MTD Crew (including Rob Kelly MYD Sales) and Bartolini Electronics for an exceptional collaboration! My recommendation is …. Get One ASAP, you won’t be disappointed. With the new MTD Kingston Norm Stockton Saratoga Signature bass there is no lack of features, sounds or options. Even though this isn’t the handmade custom version, MTD spared no expense to insure a high quality instrument in an affordable price.I was first attracted to this bass when I saw the blue quilted maple top. That with the maple fretboard is the perfect combination to create a visual masterpiece, but that’s just the beginning.The fit and finish is near perfection. The bass balances well with zero neck dive and it just “feels like home” when it’s on the strap. The tuners are very smooth and there is asymmetrical neck insures that my small hands will get to every fret easily.One feature that you’ll find on all MTD basses is a “zero” fret. The nut on this bass is actually just a string guide as the first fret is there to insure that open strings sound identical to fretted ones.When it comes to sounds, you’ll find a plethora of options. You can run the bass active or passive so you’ll find a lot of variety in tones and adjustments to satisfy. I’m mostly a finger picker with a little slap and I’ve found several set-up that work well with both.Note are clear and articulate thanks to the Bartolini pickups and electronics. Much like several other basses I’ve played and owned, they simply add to an already impressive instrument.Bottom line: The MTD Kingston Norm Stockton Saratoga Signature Bass delivers tge goods!

The KNSJ! What a beautiful sounding instrument with TONE for days!! Really smooth to play right out of the box. Passive and active electronics, I thought I had already found my favourite setting but found another one over the weekend. This is my first bass with a maple neck and you can really notice the tonal differences. I have another MTD which is the American version, so a lot more expensive . However this bass represents the best value for money and it really is a lot of fun to play. I wouldn't delay, get this masterpiece from the MTD stable .

My MTD Kingston Saratoga NSJ bass arrived almost a month ago. I have been using the bass in various situations and shows, from pop concert to straight ahead jazz, from small indoor venue to arena and outdoor festivals. The bass could be dialed in different tones to suit many styles of music. For the construction of the bass, the asymmetric neck shape really gives the ease of playing. Low string action could be applied without any fret buzzing. The USA Bartolini electronics really make the bass brilliant; it sounds so clean and clear, as well as so sensitive to your playing.
