This amp arrived today, and I am blown away! The legend of Plexi loud is true, this thing on 5 watts is crazy loud especially with an overdrive pedal. That being said, this amp runs pedals great and they really make the amp growl and break up. If you are wondering if you can use it to get over drums, yes! This amp gets really loud. I have a DSL40C I did some work to and that doesn't seem to punch with this amp. Great tone, great looks and the quality of construction is what you would expect at a higher price point. Thank you zZounds.com for carrying this amp and thank you Marshall for building it! Finally a Plexi you can play at home, barely....

Absolutely fantastic amp! It's simply a mini Plexi, perfectly executed. I get an entire spectrum of incredible vintage Marshall plexi tones from this amp. I use the top input of the Normal channel and jumper to the High Treble channel. For the cleanest sounds, I use my strat and just the normal channel volume. I keep increasing the amp volume to get more bite, and the tone controls are all highly interactive, including the presence control. I don't dial in any of the High Treble for this bluesy type of sound and it's perfect! When I want to go full on Marshall, I switch to my SG and mix the Normal and High Treble channels. With the High Treble a little goes a LONG way, and again, you'll want to play with the tone controls, but you can get all the vintage goodness with the mix, AC/DC, Cream, Zep, Jimi, all of it. And of course you get all of this in a 35 pound GORGEOUS package, with a modern effects loop and a Direct out. If you're worried about this amp being loud enough don't be. It is VERY loud, but where it really shines is the ability to dial in the perfect tone at the perfect volume and then just slap a Sennheiser mic in front of it and you can play anywhere with it, without having to lug a half stack around. Likewise the 10" speaker, it is PLENTY, but you can add extension speakers.I would love to now buy a 1959 SLP hand wired, if I ever win the lottery, but in the meantime the SV20c gets me everywhere I need to go with my sound. Thank you Marshall, and thank you zZounds!
