"Marshall MG30FX Combo Amplifier"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
All I can say is this; Marshall has done it again. They have catered to the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Slash, Billy Gibbons, Dave Navarro, Angus Young, and now, me.
Sound
This about sums up the sound; it's a Marshall. I've heard sounds from Roland, Sunn, Fender, Peavey, Line 6, but Marshall has the best sounding amps out there, as they always have been. Don't let the fact there's only 30 watts of power in this thing fool you; paired with my Epiphone Les Paul, this has some of the best clean AND heavy tones I have ever played.
Features
This amp has six built-in effects; overdrive/distortion, reverb, chorus, flanger, phaser, and delay. I personally prefer regular effects pedals, but the onboard effects is a nice touch. The headphone jack is awesome, and I use it when I don't want to annoy anybody. But my favorite thing about this amp is the Marshall-ness of this thing. The fact it's a Marshall is the primary reason I bought it.
Ease of Use
Using this amp is incredibly easy. All of the controls are marked easy to read, and adding 1+1 is harder than using this amp.
Quality
This is quite possibly the sturdiest thing I own. And not just musical equipment wise; this thing is sturdier than the walls around my house.
Value
This amp is perfectly priced, and could go for probably $150 more than it's marked for.
Manufacturer Support
To quote another review I read, the best support is the kind you don't need. I have never needed it, and I don't think I will have to.
The Wow Factor
I am going to be honest; I have the earlier model of this amp, the model with a gold front instead of silver and no carbon fiber. But with how much I love the older model, this newer model is more than likely off the charts.

"Incredible Amplifier For The Price & Incredible TONE For A Solid State Amplifier "

Let me preface by saying I had to sell my Marshall Tube Combo for financial reasons, if you want a tube amp this isn't one but still has some very nice Marshall tones. First is the tone. All four channels have a very nice, warm tone. Crunch & OD1 are my current faves because I've moved away a little from the super high gain tone. But I do love OD2, which is very high gain while retaining good note articulation. All four channels seem to have an innate ability to copy some of the classic Marshall Amps of the past, within reason. They all sound 100 Times better than a Blackstar modeling amp I tried and returned. I can't emphasize enough how warm and how truly diverse the tone of this amp is while still retaining that classic Marshall tone all in a solid state, I was very impressed. I've read a review that complained about single note articulation, obviously you need good pickups with any amp. Second is the effects. Studio & classic Reverb, Phaser, Flanger, Delay and Chorus. While they aren't as good as stand alone analog pedals, they are very usuable and the best built in effects I've heard on a solid state amp. Lastly is the main thing I love about this amp, simplicity. I had purchased a Blackstar Modeling amp and didn't care for the "processed" sound, the complicated set up and the necessity of downloading software tones. It was returned in under 72 hours. I can get any tone I want out of this Marshall with the four channels, the Reverb and the delay. Simple is better. While you can store any setting you want in the four channels, I really prefer the manual mode because adjustments are so easy.

"My Loving Marshall Amp!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars

I bought my Marshall MG30CFX, 6 weeks ago, and It sounds Amazing! The 4 Channels have sufficient amount of Clarity & Gain in them! I call the 4 channels Clean, Crunch, Overdrive & Distortion. With the 6 Effects: Reverb (Studio & Spring), Chorus, Phaser, Flanger, Delay (with the option of manually tapping the time between 2 repetitions) & Octave, you can get a Plethora of Tonal options! You can also save desired custom sounds in each channel. It can be changed anytime. It's build Solid, 30W of Power, (I Love to Crank it up & it is Loud! and Looks Beautiful with the Proud Marshall Logo and the New Silver & Black Color interface with the Carbon Fiber covering for the New MG Series. It has an Ear-phone input so you can play Loud without waking up the Neighborhood at midnights & an MP3 input so you can play along with Backing Tracks. Additional Foot-controller (I don't have it) will give you even more options. I'm a Guitarist who Loves & play Classical, Country, Pop, Latin, Jazz, Blues, Rock & Metal; and my Marshall helps me with an Awesome Tone! I play Bon Jovi, Guns N' Roses, Metallica, Led Zeppelin, Beatles, Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Eagles, Rush, Queen, Scorpions, Black Sabbath, Dire Straits, AC/DC, Deep Purple, Pantera, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Jethro Tull, Nirvana, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Randy Rhoads, Joe Satriani, John Petrucci, Yngwie Malmsteen, Chuck Berry, Simon & Garfunkel, Phil Keaggy, Buckethead & Richie Sambora among many more & My Marshall MG30CFX never lets me down. It's not a 100W Marshall Tube Halfstack, but I Love my little Amp a Lot! Thank you Marshall!

at first i was skeptical about a modeling amp. that skeptisizm went away almost as soon as i plugged in my gibson les paul. my peavey valve king doesnt even hold a candle. and now my marshal is my MG30CFX is my go to amp now. delivering amazing cleans and almost any level of distortion i need when i need it. i still dont have the preset dialed in perfectly but when i do....watch out because volume - it has plenty of it !

I bought this not expecting much got pretty much what I expected. I was looking for a light amp to use in the house with a few effects. This is not a loud amp my Bug V5 makes this sound like a whisper but the two reverbs are nice and the clean channel is good with distortion pedals. The overdrive channels are bees in a jar bad. I've been playing for 30 years and have had a few Marshalls and this does not compare but useable
